Name Your Alma Matter and the Top 10 Players of All Time

Recommended Posts

Is there a reason that all the Nederland lists are leaving off Jake Askew? When I think of great Nederland WR'S, I always think of him in the top 3.

Also players from the 50's (State Champs '57)

60-s Fleming, Merrin, Ewing and so on

70-s Skinner, Tanner

80's & 90's Lance Sheperd, Chatelain, Metts, Barrow,Dale Dial, Jon Davis

Just funny how memories fade, and the oldsters are forgotten.

FLY LIKE AN EAGLE--

How can you forget the LCM studs like Eric Peveto, Greg Harmon, and probably the toughest D-Linemen I have ever seen Wade Frederick(sp?)Ā  I remember my father coaching him, and me being on the sideline...he would take on a double team like it was nothing...I also remember him taking on a whole jasper team during a fight.Ā  Boy was that kid mean.

In chronological order:

1. Ronnie Melancon 1970-71 Blinn & Lamar

2. Larry Spacek 1972,73 74 Ā Lamar

3. Les Koening Jr. 1974-75 Ā  Ā UT

4. a running back named Bell can't remember his first name. Last name is Bell

5. Wooch Graff Ā

6. Robert Sanders

7. Felman Malveaux 1991 +- Ā Michigan

8. Spencer George Ā Early 90's

9. Bo Spears - Texas Tech, Drafted by Chic.

10. Johnson Brothers from late 80's early 90's

A whole slew of honorable mentions for the horns - many Trahans, Melancons, Mahons, Craigens, Deshotels and Johnsons .............................

Nice list, but I don't quite agree with the order.Ā  Wooch was a hell of an athlete, but never really got to show it due to injury.Ā  I don't think I would put him so high on the list.Ā  Personally, I would have listed more players from the late 80's and early 90's, but that's just my era.Ā  Guys like Shawn Loicano, Steve Racca, Anthony Semien, Sean Donaho, Adam Janese, Jake Droddy, Josh Droddy, Cody Mahon, Kevin Labay, etc., etc.

Thanks, since there was no HF, I wanted to give a shoutout. No arguments on your additions.

My list is Chronolgical not "ability". I think Wooch falls in around there somewhere.

Yea I started to put 2 of those players, but they got "beat out" by my era. ;D ;D

Haven't seen an East Chambers list yet so I will put out a few names from around my time. Some of the Bucs from the last 15 yrs or so I am not as familiar with so this is a 60's 70's list.Ā  Of course I can't put my own name lol.

Glen Gaspard All American UT

Mack George TCU- saw mack the other night and I think at 50+ he is still in playing shape lol

Wooch graduated in '93 so he would be just after Felman and Spencer.Ā  I assume the Johnson brothers are Flip and Little Flip.Ā  They played in the early 80's.Ā  I don't even know who Bo Spears is.

Hooks is 6-0 vs. Barbay. Barbay is a close second ;) (and don't give me that "smaller school" censored. WO-S still beats teams twice its size and more).

6-0 Yes

But, only when its convenient for Hooks.Ā  WOS let a little thing like Rita get in the way of a definent WIN for the Eagles.Ā  Then the next year, another storm.Ā  Hooks dodged two definent losses.Ā  This might be the only time you here this, "Dan Ray was living right."
