Guest gladiator2
This game was an unbelievable back and forth game. Groves showed me exactly what Scalp'em had stated earlier in another post. I will say this that I was very wrong about the GNLL All-Star team. The Groves coaches, parents, and player's really stepped up and made believers out of a lot of people. They should really feel good about themselves considering that just about every team in the district was at least 3 times larger in the amount of player's. I based my opinion based on lack of pitching to get them through the tournament. I witnessed a very good game tonight with 2 teams giving every once of energy that they had. I thought that Groves had this game won several times but BC just kept coming back (they showed a lot of heart). I really felt bad for Bryce Boudoin, he played the best game that I ever witnessed him play and he had to come in and pitch with the bases loaded and BC just needed one run and they got it on a walkoff. Bryce played an awesome centerfield tonite and hit the ball very well at crucial times. I believe that he had 4 assists from the OF, he was everywhere. Great game man!! Tate Allen and Jason Seward also had great games, both having about 5 RBI's. It's a shame that someone had to lose but GN made believer's out of a lot of people (MYSELF FOR SURE)!! I just wish it would have turned out different for them because they answered everytime it looked like BC was going to take over. Everytime most teams lose some people blame the coaches, but this had everything to do with BC just swinging the sticks and not what some thought. Great coaching and playing throughout the tournament. Great job guys!! Time to get ready for 7th grade football!!
MPrice
I am one of the coaches of B.C. and I was very impressed with the kids on Groves team. I would take any of them to play with me. This was a game of teams that everybody thought was the two underdogs in the tournament. There were many players on Groves team that stepped up. I tell you what Tate Allen is one of the biggest competitors ive come against and ive been doing this for 17 years. I hate to single him out because there were others like boudoin etc. that played awsome. This game ended on which team got lucky. This was the best game ive ever witnessed as a coach from both sides. The Groves coaches really had their kids prepared and the deserve(along with the kids) a standing ovation. Its sad someone had to lose and I consider myself lucky to win and witness this display of heart from both sides. I hope to see all of these kids on the big diamond in the future and I look forward to it. This was a Great Game( the luckiest team won and thats all you can say)!!!!!!!!!! TradinUp BH
I'm going to brag on my home league, but like I've posted before, GNLL doesn't have the biggest or strongest kids, but it does have alot of heart. I know you need more than heart to win championships, but we'll be competative each and every year. The two teams matched up really well, and who know's, if GNLL was the home team they could've been the winning team last night. It was back and forth and a very exciting game. How many places do you go and play and fans screaming with cheers the entire game, not many places. You have several combined leagues in our district now and GNLL has 5 (10-12 year old) regular season teams to pick three all-star teams. We still find a way to be there till the end, and believe me there is no quiting in our teams. Anyways good luck to Nederland and BC, hope to see one of you go to Williamsport. BTW, I would like to say GOOD JOB to all of the GNLL all star teams, all of us in Groves are proud of you.
