Nederland Babe Ruth 14 Year olds leave for Wharton

The 14 Year Old State Tournament is in Wharton.  The team leaves today.  Their first game is @ 12:00 PM Saturday against Bay City.  If they win they play again at 5:00 PM Saturday against Palacios.  Sunday will depend on win/lose.  This is a deep team that should go far.

*  The umpires were impressed with NBR's efforts to not run the score up in the first two games.  Although the scores look bad, we played station to station.  The opposition just couldn't make a play.  We finally bunted back to the pitcher and let them pick us off to end our half of the final innings.

NBR leaves for the Southwest Regional Tournament in Bryant Arkansas on July 24th.  First game will be Friday against the North Arkansas Sate Champion @ 11:00 a.m.
