the start of the BISD Stadium construction will be this fall contrary to what was reported earlier.

Huh? That's interesting. Once again, the Beaumont Suprise reports the information incorrectly. Well, that's good news Bear. So, there is a possibility that it might come close to being ready to play football in 2009? Maybe? Hopefully? The project will probably take between a year and a half and two years to complete. Depends on how and if the contractors drag their feet. When are they suppose to start Bear? have you heard something definite?

the contractor is just waiting on the completion of all the paperwork filings required with the land purchase. We are ready to go. It's up to the government agencies to give us the green light.

Then I would have to assume that they've come up with a finalized set of blueprints as to what the stadium is gonna look like? So, spill the beans. What is our new stadium gonna look like? Who is the General Contractor, do you know? It seems like I heard someone say it was Parsons Contractors. If that's the case, there's a chance I might get to help out with the electrical. ;D

In stead of a gym(that weightroom was off the chain), there will be a fancy cement pond for the boys and girls to hone their swimming skills and to host a couple of swim meets.  Should be the jewel of SE Texas

yeah, it definitely should be one of the nicest (and the envy of other school districts) stadiums from Orange to Houston when it's completed.

that pool will be in constant use, especially the water rehab area. Another piece may be added to the complex that even Galena Park does not have.

we will finally have a nice playoff venue.

........not to mention the even bigger jumbo-tron! YES. Other ISD's in the area will all be wanting to use our stadium for their playoff games. Not to mention, the possibility of getting FOXSports or ESPN 2 or 3 to broadcast some games here in the future. Now that would be neat!

if we continue to have schedules like we have now I can see a televised game here and there.

on the flipside to that, we would have to be COMPETITIVE with the type of schedule we have. They wont want to broadcast us getting our butts beat.

that "complex" was awesome but the stadium itself isnt overwhelming. The weight/conference/team/locker/banquet 3 story monster room was unbelievable and is what makes it.

I used to live near Jenks...  They do have a nice stadium.  They also have an awesome football team year after year.
