shooter Posted July 19, 2008 Report Posted July 19, 2008 A friend has left Apple Springs (near lufkin) and has taken the head baseball job at Sam Houston Hiigh School in Houston ISD. How challenging will the move from 1A to 5A be?
mustang Posted July 19, 2008 Report Posted July 19, 2008 In many ways the job will be easier. No mowing the field, washing clothes, driving buses, etc.. But there will be more pressure. He'll have more talent to sort through. However, baseball is baseball no matter what the size of the school.

This guy must be a good coach cause thats a big promotion going from 1A to 5A.
sahen Posted July 19, 2008 Report Posted July 19, 2008 wonder if it is this Sam Houston This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up 2nd longest losing streak in all of texas high school football....maybe he wont have that much pressure afterall, as long as he surpases the football teams performance...
CSI-Texas Posted July 20, 2008 Report Posted July 20, 2008 I was worried about the jump from Hull-Daisetta to The Woodlands. But it is great. You have more time to focus on the kids and coaching because you do not have to do a lot of the extra work that you did in 1A. But it is good to have that work ethic from the 1A level though. No job they can give you that you have not done before. But The Woodlands might be a little different that Sam Houston. Should still be a little easier and have a lot bigger budget to work with. That is nice.
