Gasilla
Wouldn't that be WO-S with 4? I know PNG has 3 I believe, maybe 4. Nederland has like 2 or 3. TJ had a couple maybe more.

Cardinal Supporter
I know that PNG won the state championship in 1953, 1955, 1975. Lost in 1977 and then again to Stephenville but I cannot remember the year. So that is at least 5 apparances in the state finals.

AggiesAreWe
Newton has 5 final appearances too, with 3 state championships.
Bigdog
Ned has 3 appearences, 1 Title. Just think of all the teams in this area, Jeff County, Orange County, Hardin, Newton county. Of all of those teams, only 5 teams account for all of the state titles in those counties.
besbolbenbedygud
Ned, PNG, WB, Hebert, French, PA Jefferson, BC, WOS, ......off top of my head but that's more then five?? +PA Lincoln in the PVIL
WOS87
The answer would be: PN-G (#21 below) with 6 state finals appearances... although some purists would argue PN-G was just Port Neches up until 1956 followed by: TJ (#30) with 5 Newton (#38) and WO-S (#52) with 4 each Burkeville (#69) and Nederland (#89) with 3 each not on the list below: Bridge City, Barbers Hill, Hull-Daisetta and Corrigan-Camden with 2 each West Brook, French, Hebert, Jasper, Crosby, Coldspring, High Island and old Beaumont High with 1 each The table below can be found in the Historical Forum of this site under the "Statewide Football Records" thread... along with tons more information All-Time State Championship Game Appearances Years in BOLD indicate Championships This includes 6-man, 8-man and 11-man football Ch=Total # of Championships Ru=Total # of times as runnerup

WOS87
Kelly has played in eight and have one five of them. one in 1955 and seven between 1985 and 2000. won four of them Not quite... there were no State Championship games in the TCIL from 1990-1993 when Kelly won 2 of those titles. The "State Championship" those years was essentially the equivalent of a District Title as there were only 5 teams in TCIL 4A those years. The teams played a round-robin schedule against each other and the team with the best record in the 4A conference was declared "State Champs". Kelly won it in 1992 with a 4-0-0 conference record and were co-champs with Dallas Jesuit in 1993 (both with 3-1-0 conference records)
