Guest etbu Posted July 25, 2008 Report Posted July 25, 2008 Good for the kids that are taking part in this great camp you ARE THE BEST AND WINNERS. ;D
Block 76 Posted July 25, 2008 Report Posted July 25, 2008 SAW THIS ON THE NEWS LAST NIGHT. LOOKS TO BE VERY BENEFICIAL. I THINK THIS WAS ON LAST YEAR ALSO. I DON'T SEE HOW THIS COULD BE ANYTHING BUT GOOD. KIDS TODAY LOVE TO LAY UP IN AIR CONDITIONED WEIGHT ROOMS WORKING OUT, THINKING THEY ARE GETTING IN SHAPE. GETTING IN SHAPE..( ESPECIALLY IN S.E. TEXAS ) REQUIRES MORE OUTSIDE WORK THAN INSIDE. I.E. RUNNING STANDS, SPRINTS, AND SOME LONG DISTANCE.
Guest abovetherim Posted July 25, 2008 Report Posted July 25, 2008 Depends on your position. I don't see long distant running beneficial for O-linemen. D-linemen may have more benefit for long distant training. In the video, I didn't see any 300 lbs athletes. Wonder why? Personally, I believe in position specific training.
hj_hawk_60 Posted July 26, 2008 Report Posted July 26, 2008 The Gohlke Strength and Conditioning camp put on by former PNG Indian Chris Gohlke is similar to this except that not only do they run and jump but there is lifting going on also... it is (usually) monday & thursday - arm day and sprints and conditioning tuesday & friday - leg day and sprints and conditioning wednesday - auxillary lifts and sprints and jumps
