Guest gladiator2 Posted July 25, 2008 Report Posted July 25, 2008 Does anyone have any information on Babe Ruth Fall Ball? When does it start and how will the age classifications be broke down and who is the main contact of the league?
blitz51 Posted July 27, 2008 Report Posted July 27, 2008 Start at halloween and count 6 weeks back and thats when it starts every year. So registration should start 2-3 weeks before then.
Guest gladiator2 Posted July 27, 2008 Report Posted July 27, 2008 Thanks, is it normally a pretty competitive league?
NHS82 Posted July 28, 2008 Report Posted July 28, 2008 Thanks, is it normally a pretty competitive league? No, its your typical city fall ball league. The boys usually play 2 games every Saturday. The games are fun to watch.
Guest gladiator2 Posted July 29, 2008 Report Posted July 29, 2008 Serious, 2 Saturday games! That's out of the question because then there will not be any room for any select tournaments. We were looking for games during the week.
Razor Posted July 29, 2008 Report Posted July 29, 2008 Alot of the kids play football, so weekday games are out of the question.
Guest gladiator2 Posted July 30, 2008 Report Posted July 30, 2008 We play football, too. Football practice is over by 5pm everyday and games are on Tuesday's.
Bulldog Dad Posted August 1, 2008 Report Posted August 1, 2008 The fallball program at NBR is geared toward teaching kids transitioning from Little League to Babe Ruth the new rule changes they will see in Babe Ruth in the spring. It is a very non-competitive laid back learning environment. The cost to play is minimal and the player usually receives a t-shirt jersey and a NBR ball cap. Because the cost is so low, the league operates during fallball on a minimal budget...sometimes volunteer umpires and no lights to reduce operating expenses. For this reason they only play on Saturdays and only during daylight hours so they don't have to turn on lights. I would recommend any player that just finished Little League and who might be thinking about playing Babe Ruth in the spring to look for registration dates for NBR fall ball. The kids have a great time and the parents enjoy the laid back environment as well. This is how youth baseball should be...FUN and educational.
Guest gladiator2 Posted August 1, 2008 Report Posted August 1, 2008 Thanks for the valuable information!!
