I found out and maybe most of you already know, but in 2009 Summerwood HS and Fall Creek HS will be HS #5 and #6 in Humble. When they play varsity, that would mean Barbers Hill, Crosby, Galena Park, North Forest, Dayton, Summerwood, Fall Creek, Goose Creek Memorial, CE King, Kingwood Park, and possibly Livingston in 4A. Any ideas if they'll stay 4A or in 2 years will we get a couple in our district? Just curious.

New Caney will have a new school (Porter High) that is to open in 2010! It will be a 4-A school and most likely New Caney will drop to 4-A! Also Splendora and Huffman will be 4-A in 2010! Fall Creek won't be open for at least four years!!

Summerwood and or Falls Creek are the same high school and Humble will be the one that drops down to four-a. Huffman will not go up next time bc we are at 880 now and prolly stay down.

Dayton or BH will probably have to move out that way next realignment.

I read the sign in front of the school across from Summerwood yesterday and it said HS #6. Humble ISD site says there's going to be Fall Creek and Summerwood HS. I think Fall Creek is the Cardinals and they haven't came up with a mascot for Fall Creek.

Shows how much I dont know........ Ha  I know that they are talking about trying to pass a thirteen cent tax for the schools in Humble to stay in the black. They are between  twenty and thirty million in the red.

Ha They use bond money to build these skewls but to operate much different story. Yea there are many skewls that will be in the red this year and Huffman is no exception.

OK don't kill the messenger but spoke to a person at Humble and they told me that the new school at Summerwood or FallsCreek would be the last one built for about five to six years. As far as school number on the sign not sure what that means but the skinny I think.

    • I don’t benefit from it, that’s not my area.  But the average cost to imprison someone is around $15k per year (on average in the US) and capital cases cost somewhere between $1.5-$3M with over half being overturned or reduced to life in prison anyway.  These numbers may be inflated since the last report I read but I’m sure it would be on both sides and higher on the DP side if anything. So what’s the point?  We feel better because we got to return the favor on someone (hopefully) who committed a heinous crime?  And I don’t know I can say we have “complicated” it. Which appeal should we cut out?  Our justice system has a pecking order and we have higher courts for a reason. When we are about to impose the ultimate judgment, should we cut steps that other cases have to save a buck?  Or do we not pay for an indigent person’s experts at the trial court level because it’s too expensive? Or do we just lock them up and throw away the key (unless we later find out they weren’t actually guilty, in which case we have a key and a life we haven’t unjustly ended) and save a ton of money?  Seems to me to be an easy and obvious solution but I’m more of a pragmatist.

    • @CIS_org National Security Senior Fellow @BensmanTodd tells Steve Bannon how the U.S. State Department and USAID have been sending American taxpayer funds to religious nonprofits to facilitate mass immigration to our southern border. Bensman says 248 nonprofits are participating in the United Nations’ 2024 agenda to distribute $1.6 billion in cash, transportation, food, and shelter to U.S.-bound immigrants across Mexico and Latin America.
