player "no shows"

Recommended Posts

Always seems that there are a couple of players that don't show up for two a days.  Anyone have any key players not show up?  Just curious.

I believe if that was the case in Dayton they would no longer be players, let alone key players.

Same goes in Mustang country. They would then be Bears. :o

I hear there was one "potential" key player not show for WOS yesterday. It may have something to do with this storm though. Why on earth would you opt to be a Bear with the team WOS will have compared to what the Bears will have? They may go 0-fer this season.

I think he means the coaches at WOS wont put up with any bs and they can go across town and do what they want to and still start for Moody.

You wouldn't opt for it. I was saying "What do you call a Mustang football player that doesn't show up for practice?" The answer is you call him a Bear. Apparently my attempt at humor was over looked or maybe just enjoyed by me. Either way it was a joke.

Yes, I understood what you were saying. My post actually had 2 parts the srious part about 1 player not showing," I hear there was one "potential" key player not show for WOS yesterday. It may have something to do with this storm though." Then the playing off of your joke part,"Why on earth would you opt to be a Bear with the team WOS will have compared to what the Bears will have? They may go 0-fer this season." You know, now he's a Bear, why would he make such a mistake type of thing? Oh well, I obviously didn't do a very good job so I'll just shut up. At this point I appear to have opened my mouth and removed all doubt, right?

::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)

IMO if you have a child who plays sports or really any other extra-curricular activity you know that come the first Monday in August practices will start.  Scheduling a vacation during practice time is no excuse.  I agree that it speaks volumes about not only the student's committment to the team, but also the parent's committment to helping their child fulfill thier own dreams.  Practice schedules go out at the end of the school year so there really is no good excuse for missing practice for a vacation.  ::)

Exactly!  But you know there are going to be some parents that wanna buck the system and prove that "noone is gonna tell me when to take my vacation" kind of thing.  Not saying that's what happened with any of the players that missed Monday's practice.....just saying that it does happen.

Don't know why people have to be like that, but you are so right. That's when you tell the parents, "I'm not telling you when to take vacation. I'm telling you when practice starts. If you miss practice, you have to pay the price if you want to be on this team. So take vacation when you want, just remember the consequences." Wonder where I learned that... ;)

You guys just wont give it up will ya.  Just keep bear bashing.  It seems to be a favorite past time for many.  Why dont you just take pride in your team and cut out the other crap.  I know there are a few players who bust their hump trying to play and you old guys just gotta get your kicks by running someone down.  Tell me, just how many of you ever went through 2 a days?

    • Very close game until the 2nd half (mostly the 4th) when Orangefield came unraveled. Worse defensive effort I have seen out of the Bobcats in three years. This team has to get back on D and quit getting beat over the top when pressing. Offensively, non ball handlers continually turn it over and their shot selection is poor. Basic basketball, such as: defensive hustle, boxing out, and taking care of the basketball are the areas the Bobcats need to work on most. Whitmire will get them on point, but he shouldn't have to coach effort at the Varsity Level.  We'll be at McnNeese this Friday night at 6pm.
    • I don’t benefit from it, that’s not my area.  But the average cost to imprison someone is around $15k per year (on average in the US) and capital cases cost somewhere between $1.5-$3M with over half being overturned or reduced to life in prison anyway.  These numbers may be inflated since the last report I read but I’m sure it would be on both sides and higher on the DP side if anything. So what’s the point?  We feel better because we got to return the favor on someone (hopefully) who committed a heinous crime?  And I don’t know I can say we have “complicated” it. Which appeal should we cut out?  Our justice system has a pecking order and we have higher courts for a reason. When we are about to impose the ultimate judgment, should we cut steps that other cases have to save a buck?  Or do we not pay for an indigent person’s experts at the trial court level because it’s too expensive? Or do we just lock them up and throw away the key (unless we later find out they weren’t actually guilty, in which case we have a key and a life we haven’t unjustly ended) and save a ton of money?  Seems to me to be an easy and obvious solution but I’m more of a pragmatist.
    • 1 thing for certain. Coach Earned 3 more years to figure it out lol
    • @CIS_org National Security Senior Fellow @BensmanTodd tells Steve Bannon how the U.S. State Department and USAID have been sending American taxpayer funds to religious nonprofits to facilitate mass immigration to our southern border. Bensman says 248 nonprofits are participating in the United Nations’ 2024 agenda to distribute $1.6 billion in cash, transportation, food, and shelter to U.S.-bound immigrants across Mexico and Latin America.
