rleefelt Posted August 5, 2008 Report Posted August 5, 2008 Always seems that there are a couple of players that don't show up for two a days. Anyone have any key players not show up? Just curious.

Gasilla Posted August 5, 2008 Report Posted August 5, 2008 I hear there was one "potential" key player not show for WOS yesterday. It may have something to do with this storm though. Why on earth would you opt to be a Bear with the team WOS will have compared to what the Bears will have? They may go 0-fer this season.

I think he means the coaches at WOS wont put up with any bs and they can go across town and do what they want to and still start for Moody.

I was saying "What do you call a Mustang football player that doesn't show up for practice?" The answer is you call him a Bear. Apparently my attempt at humor was over looked or maybe just enjoyed by me. Either way it was a joke.

My post actually had 2 parts the srious part about 1 player not showing," I hear there was one "potential" key player not show for WOS yesterday. It may have something to do with this storm though." Then the playing off of your joke part,"Why on earth would you opt to be a Bear with the team WOS will have compared to what the Bears will have? They may go 0-fer this season." You know, now he's a Bear, why would he make such a mistake type of thing? Oh well, I obviously didn't do a very good job so I'll just shut up. At this point I appear to have opened my mouth and removed all doubt, right? : : : : : : : : : : : : :
stangchain Posted August 5, 2008 Report Posted August 5, 2008 I heard it was a vacation thing. Am wondering why you would schedule vacation when you know exactly what day two a days start. I'm sure coaches are questioning his commitment! We'll see.
stangchain Posted August 5, 2008 Report Posted August 5, 2008 LOL. Funny thing about that is....he'll be the one to pay!!!!!
Gasilla Posted August 5, 2008 Report Posted August 5, 2008 What is it, 10 stands for every day you miss? He better not be gone for long.
IndianPride83 Posted August 5, 2008 Report Posted August 5, 2008 IMO if you have a child who plays sports or really any other extra-curricular activity you know that come the first Monday in August practices will start. Scheduling a vacation during practice time is no excuse. I agree that it speaks volumes about not only the student's committment to the team, but also the parent's committment to helping their child fulfill thier own dreams. Practice schedules go out at the end of the school year so there really is no good excuse for missing practice for a vacation. :
stangchain Posted August 6, 2008 Report Posted August 6, 2008 Exactly! But you know there are going to be some parents that wanna buck the system and prove that "noone is gonna tell me when to take my vacation" kind of thing. Not saying that's what happened with any of the players that missed Monday's practice.....just saying that it does happen.

That's when you tell the parents, "I'm not telling you when to take vacation. I'm telling you when practice starts. If you miss practice, you have to pay the price if you want to be on this team. So take vacation when you want, just remember the consequences." Wonder where I learned that...
td Posted August 6, 2008 Report Posted August 6, 2008 It would be so much easier if we could all just be on the same page. If parents would realize that coaches are just doing what is best for Little Johnny and not trying to control or hurt him.
Green and Bold Posted August 7, 2008 Report Posted August 7, 2008 You guys just wont give it up will ya. Just keep bear bashing. It seems to be a favorite past time for many. Why dont you just take pride in your team and cut out the other crap. I know there are a few players who bust their hump trying to play and you old guys just gotta get your kicks by running someone down. Tell me, just how many of you ever went through 2 a days?
stangchain Posted August 7, 2008 Report Posted August 7, 2008 Green: There is no doubt that the Bears play hard and practice hard. What the poster was getting at is a fact that a lot of kids who could not make it on the the Mustang squad will quit school at WOS and enroll in LCM.
