Gusher Posted August 8, 2008 Report Posted August 8, 2008 The name of the team should be "canceled". I have heard that only around 38% of the games scheduled in the ABA were played.
Lazeek Posted August 9, 2008 Report Posted August 9, 2008 Lamar, HJ Hawks and Twin County Little Dribblers basketball is all that I need. I don't think that some second or third rate hoop league will last very long!!!!!!! Waste of time and money in my opinion!!!!
Gusher Posted August 11, 2008 Report Posted August 11, 2008 From what I am reading the ABA is planning to expand to near 50 teams next year. Bad thing is only seven are coming back from last year. Oh and rumor has it the owner of this new Beaumont team still owes money to the arena in Rio Grande Valley. SMG is this the best you can do? This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up
KFDM COOP Posted August 12, 2008 Author Report Posted August 12, 2008 Not a good start then if he owes Money.
HoopInsider_Cooper Posted August 12, 2008 Report Posted August 12, 2008 I'm not taking up for anyone because I have no affiliation. Do background on the this owner, I did. He bought out two other goof offs that owed $. There's about 100 other minor league sports in McAllen/Edinburg area including a NBAD-League team. That's like two hockey teams in beaumont. One AHL and the other ECHL. Personally I think the arena is way big for a minor league sport but if they are willing to pay, so be it. I know they have already moved in to the WILDCATTER offices.
Guest abovetherim Posted August 12, 2008 Report Posted August 12, 2008 Anyone know if there is a salary cap with this league and the approximate salary of the players? Maybe this could be an alternative for Lamar players who want to continue playing after college.
