Michael Myers' creepy district picks

Recommended Posts

YAWN...Have a good winter and spring? Just up from a nap & giving up my picks before I turn in for another week or so.

21-5A

1. North Shore - They've won like 100 straight regular season games but have a brutal non-district. I'll give them the edge since they host West Brook.

2. West Brook - Plenty of offense but have to play @ North Shore in Week 10.

3. Baytown Lee - For the 1st time in forever, they don't have a QB.

4. PA Memorial - Good enough to get in.

5. Channelview - Capable of an upset or 2 @ home.

6. Baytown Sterling - Need to be 3A.

19-4A

1. Dayton - Despite the riff-raffs, they are still tops in this district.

2. Crosby - Former Orangefield HC has the Coogs a yearly playoff team.

3. CE King - Not the "King" of the past but still decent.

4. Barbers Hill - Young, very young.

5. Galena Park - Even if they sneak in, they will lost by 30 in the 1st Rd.

6. North Forest - Too much turbulence.

7. Goose Creek - 1st year school but pulled talent from Lee/Sterling.

8. Kingwood Park - 1st year school will have rough season.

20-4A

1. Nederland - Explosive offense & shaky D so expect shootouts.

2. PN-G - Back to running the football.

3. Ozen - Defense is there, but can the offense score points?

4. Vidor - Surprise of this bunch.

5. Livingston - Had a decent year in '07 but new digs aren't easier.

6. Lumberton - Was last year a fairy tale?

7. Central - What's happened here?

8. LC-M - Don't look much better.

18-3A

1. Carthage - Offense will be better. Scary.

2. Diboll - Good offensively but have a new coach.

3. Jasper - New kids in town & will their explosive offense will fit in perfectly!

4. Center - Just not good enough.

5. Rusk - Would give them a better pick if they were "Rush".

6. Huntington - Long, long season.

21-2A

1. WO-S - Would there be any other choice?

2. Silsbee - Offense back on track. Young OL may be suspect.

3. Hamshire-Fannett - Plenty of starters return plus gets WOS/Silsbee @ home.

4. Hardin-Jefferson - If healthy, they will be much better.

5. Orangefield - Well coached but lost a good QB/RB.

6. Bridge City - Much better than last year & finishing 4th isn't out of this world.

22-3A

1. Cleveland - Ton of starters back from a 4-7 playoff team. Yikes.

2. Coldspring - Well coached with some decent speed back.

3. Huffman - Any more Foreman kids?

4. Splendora - My surprise team.

5. Libertry - Usually athletic & anything can happen in this weak district.

6. Shepherd - Former SETX native Shane Hanks takes over.

7. Tarkington - Should win at least 1 game.

22-2A

1. Kirbyville - Should have the district success WO-S had when going down a class.

2. Newton - My gut tells me they should be the real No. 1.

3. Woodville - Should have been here last year except for heartbreaker to Hemphill.

4. Hemphill - Won't beat Woodville this year.

5. Shelbyville - Larry Upshaw used to be the man in Hemphill.

6. San Augustine - Hard to believe they were playing for a state title a few years ago.

23-2A

1. Anahuac - Young Barbay finally has them where he wants them.

2. Kountze - Breaking a streak of 35 years!!!!!!

3. East Chambers - No more Superman.

4. Buna - Loss a ton to graduation but will still compete.

5. Hardin - Another team who lost some studs but do have some goods ones returning.

6. Deweyville - New coach in town.

7. Warren - Don't have the numbers anymore.

23-A

1. Hull-Daisetta - Still pretty good.

2. Evadale - Have the most starters back but

3. West Hardin - Tyler Copeland is still there.

4. Burkeville - What has happened to this group of 'Stangs?

5. Chester - The purple and gold are ready to sting!!!

6. High Island - Decent offense to help them compete.

7. Sabine Pass - The Shark Attack (plus mosquitoes) help them win home games.

8. Colmesneil - Didn't George Jones have a place here?

:o WOW! Those are some interesting picks, there! I especially like what the middle of 20-4A looks like.....Vidor in 4th, and Central in 7th? I know some a certain Jaguar who is not gonna be happy about that!!!! ;D

I'm not worried about it.  It's just some guy making guesses.  He's entitled to his own opinion... ;)

will this be the year of the Pirates..? Last year it was because we were young...Will we be "the surprise of the bunch or same ol' same ol'.....??

Living in houston so wont be able to make all of them but still will be keeping up...

have to catch some 5A games over here or follow dayton...

I like the way he had it for that district 20-4A. The top three spots may shift around but I dont know. I dont think Lumberton's success last year was a 'Fairy Tale' but I think they will have to prove things once again like last year because they are always getting talked bad about. I am hearing well about Nederland though. Central is just in a tough district as well, but i think they have a little fire.
