HJ-Hawks25 Posted August 20, 2008 Report Posted August 20, 2008 Both teams going to a neutral location. Though it isnt a real game, and the fan base wouldn't have any effect on the scrimmage if it was played at home, both teams have to deal with a different field. Wonder how it will turn out.
bushpilot Posted August 21, 2008 Report Posted August 21, 2008 Just left the scrimmage, not a bad day for either team. Hardin struggled on offense, as did HJ. During the first set of 1st teamers, HJ had about 30 yards on 15 plays, Hardin drove the ball all the way down the field and then stalled. Hardin's defense looked outstanding, during most of the live quarter I don't think HJ made it past their own 30. The one time they did, they scored on some nice passing plays, but Hardin had a lot of reserves in at the time. HJ has a good looking quarterback and receiver squad, and some good looking linebackers. Hardin moved the ball at will down the field until they got close and then couldn't put the ball in the endzone. Hardin's QB threw 3 interceptions that looked like he was actually throwing to the HJ defender, we'll have to work on that. Over all, Hardin's defense looked much better than last years, but the offense has some work to do. HJ looked pretty good on defense too, but they need some work on running the ball. The biggest difference I saw was HJ had a steady stream of good looking reserves to put in, but Hardin is very limited and let's hope we don't have any injuries or we're in trouble.

HJ scored twice in the controlled scrimmage and hardin didnt. During the Live scrimmage HJ had 2 touchdowns so how did they not pass the 30? HJ fumbled snaps and handoffs 4 times and Hardin still came up empty... Defense for HJ looked specatular. Hardin's pass offense, i thought, did very successful though for a while though. They have potential to throw the ball alot better during the real games. And for the 'fake' overtime situation, HJ scored a 30 yard run.
bushpilot Posted August 21, 2008 Report Posted August 21, 2008 Here we go again! In the controlled scrimmage, HJ scored twice on Hardin's second team squad, they didn't even budge our first team squad(less than 30 yards comment). Also, against our second team squad, HJ had their starting offensive line in, unless several kids had the same numbers. The touchdown HJ scored on in the live scrimmage, our second team secondary was in there. I'm not sure if you've ever watched a scrimmage before so I'll explain the concept for you and I'll try and talk slow. Controlled-first teamers against first teamers, second teamers against second teamers in that order. Live-game like situations with subs as needed. I do like HJ's quarterback and receivers as well as their linebackers though, and Hardin looked good all over on defense. Hardin struggled on offense, but Haynes isn't gonna show a whole lot with Hull-Daisetta's coaches in the stands.
Hornet Posted August 21, 2008 Report Posted August 21, 2008 I wish both teams much success with the regular games approaching! Two very good teams with class.
goodsport Posted August 22, 2008 Report Posted August 22, 2008 Will this scrimmage get HJ in the polls? Good luck Hawks!
Castor27 Posted August 22, 2008 Report Posted August 22, 2008 Will this scrimmage get HJ in the polls? Good luck Hawks! Probably not but they are a much better team than they were last year. I think they will do well in their revamped district.
PANTHERPLAYA09 Posted August 22, 2008 Report Posted August 22, 2008 does this confirm how idiotic bushpilot is?
Guest Dr.J Posted August 22, 2008 Report Posted August 22, 2008 hj scored twice during the scrimage then scored three more times during game situation.. and had a 47 yrd field goal...i played and and hardins defense was strong at first but when we got to game situation.. they sucked...we had a 130 pound sophmore running all over hardin and scored then our first string rb scored twice on runs and hardins coach cried like a baby about setting that butt stomped....36-6 hj will make a run at the playoffs....
bushpilot Posted August 22, 2008 Report Posted August 22, 2008 You people in HJ should invest in some reading teachers. Re-read my post and realize how stupid you are. As for panthaplaya, you're still upset about getting handled by a small 2A school and the fact you're gonna end up without a district win, well you might beat Tarkington. Liberty looks terrible this year, you know it, everybody know's it. Your lucky Kelly couldn't make it, you would have been embaressed.
