KFDM COOP Posted August 21, 2008 Report Posted August 21, 2008 What has been some of the worst Weather conditions you have ever sit through for a HS Football game?
DP#1FAN Posted August 21, 2008 Report Posted August 21, 2008 1980 LCM at French We like played in a hurricane no ones band or drill team or fans showed up for this one.
BHFAN Posted August 21, 2008 Report Posted August 21, 2008 The worst one that I have attended was a play off game in 2000 or 2001. It Was BH against Orangefield in the bi district round of the playoffs and the location was Bridge City. I think the game time temperature was around 30 degrees with about a 20 MPH wind from the north If that wasn't bad enough it began to sleet/rain mix at half time! I was not dressed for this weather and froze my butt off the entire game!! I felt worse for the Orangefield fans and players as the final score was 55-0 BH (I think) Any Orangefield folks remimber or attend this game!!
Lightning/Eagle Posted August 21, 2008 Report Posted August 21, 2008 New Caney vs Jacksonville I believe it was 1999. Mixture of sleet and snow and a 30 mph north wind. Game was played at Baylor. Two now professional athletes were quarterbacks. Adam Dunn for New Caney and Josh McCown for Jacksonville. Also watched PNG in a playoff game a few years back at SFA in a down pour.
KG03bruins7 Posted August 21, 2008 Report Posted August 21, 2008 Last season when my bruins lost to the clements it was raining and cold. it was like a soap ophrea when the clements came back and was leading by 3 points then brook got the ball with about 30 or 40 seconds left then brook coudnt get move the ball down field the rain had stop then when it was all over and the whistle had blown it started raining cats and dogs.

cornhusker Posted August 21, 2008 Report Posted August 21, 2008 We are going back on this game. Nederland playing Garland Owls for the 1956 state championship at Bulldog stadium. Both teams would run 2 plays and punt for decent field position. It rained and rained the whole game. Bum Phillips team lost 3-0.

He ain't lyin! And for some reason--it seemed like Clements balls were dryer than ours.
BUCman Posted August 21, 2008 Report Posted August 21, 2008 The 96 EC-Deweyville game comes to mind. It was like playing in a hurricane.
marshman Posted August 21, 2008 Report Posted August 21, 2008 1985, WO-S vs French in Beaumont. Lots of rain that week which continued on Friday night. Field was very, very sloppy. But it was all worth it as WO-S won. 10-7 I think was the score. The win clinched the district title for WO-S which was the last year in 5A.
Bulldog92 Posted August 21, 2008 Report Posted August 21, 2008 1988...Jasper vs. Forest Brook in the season opener in Jasper. We knew all day that it was gonna rain and by kickoff, it hadn't even begun. About a minute into the game, the skies opened up and it must have rained about 5" in those three hours. We always kept the field in great condition, but it was no match for the elements that night. It became 100 yards of mud. Jasper won the game 27-19.
stangchain Posted August 21, 2008 Report Posted August 21, 2008 1987 WOS vs Wharton in Tully stadium. We've had global warming since that time. Coldest I have ever been at anytime in my entire life. Toes were FROZEN!!!!!!

stangchain Posted August 21, 2008 Report Posted August 21, 2008 It's weird how there haven't been as cold of games since then.
IamtheZone Posted August 21, 2008 Report Posted August 21, 2008 2007 Kelly vs Kinkaid 1st game of the year ruined our field for 5 or 6 weeks!!!! Rained the day before, before the game, and never stopped raining during the game Kelly 19-0
