Lamar Volleyball Set to Host Red-White Scrimmage Tuesday at 7 p.m.

After two weeks of two-a-day practices in preparation for the 2008 season, the Lamar University volleyball team will cap off the preseason when they host a Red-White scrimmage on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at McDonald Gym.

Last season Lamar played in front of one of the best atmospheres in the Southland Conference for their matches at McDonald Gym. Fans packed the house as the Lady Cardinals rattled off a 14-1 record at home.

Senior setter Ashley Todd said the fans made a major impact in the matches last year. She hopes Tuesday's scrimmage will give LU volleyball fans a taste of what to expect this season.

"Our crowds made such a huge difference in the atmosphere last year," she said. "We're going to have a really good team again this year and I hope everyone comes out on Tuesday night to watch us play. We want our fans to just as excited for the season as we are."

Admission to the scrimmage is free.
