Guest coachacola Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 From The Oklahoman: Former OU guard Jenna Plumley is finished at Oklahoma. The 5-foot-4 point guard from Red Rock is enrolled at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas, Lamar head women’s basketball coach Larry Tidwell told The Oklahoman Tuesday evening. “I have the utmost respect for Sherri Coale and Oklahoma,†Tidwell said. “But I just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to get a kid from a nationally ranked program. I had to jump on that.†Plumley was suspended from the upcoming season at OU after she was arrested last month for allegedly trying to steal $34.65 worth of cosmetics from a Norman Wal-Mart. She retained her scholarship at OU, and took classes in July. Plumley started in all of OU’s 31 games last season. She won’t be eligible to play at Lamar until the 2009-2010, and has two years of eligibility remaining. http://newsok.com/jenna-plumley-done-at-ou-enrolled-at-lamar/article/3288999/?tm=1219792667
Lazeek Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 Sounds like a "steal" for LU!!! ;D She starter all 31 games last year for OU!!!
UNLV Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 Coach needs to sit her down to explain this is a second chance and that he won't tolerate stealing or any crime. Her and Ang Green, oh wow...Then add Brittany inside game...
Guest coachacola Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 From the LU athletic website: Plumley, a 5-4 guard from Red Rock, Okla. comes to Lamar after two strong seasons at Oklahoma. She started 41 games in her career, averaging 6.5 points 2.7 assists per game in 63 games played. As a sophomore she stared all 31 games for OU, passing out 107 assists and led the Sooners in 3-pointers made and attempted, knocking down 64-of-202 from behind the arc. Last season Plumley guided OU to a 22-9 record and the second round of the NCAA Tournament. After starting 10 of the final 11 games of her freshman year she helped the Sooners to a 28-5 record and a trip to the NCAA Regional Semifinal. How good will this team be in a couple of years? http://lamarcardinals.cstv.com/sports/w-baskbl/spec-rel/082708aaa.html

Guest abovetherim Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 I hope Coach sets the "team rules" in stone!
Guest mffl Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 I think it'll be fine... we all make dumb decisions in life, however it seems like she chose to leave Oklahoma and she knows she can do a lot more at Lamar.
Guest abovetherim Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 You're right mffl, we all mess up at one time or another. Coach Tidwell is putting a great team together. Can you imagine if Abalde stayed?!!!!
