HoopInsider_Cooper Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 KBTV 4 reports Nabors broke his leg in a pick up game on Wed...Out indefinitely.
NickKBTV Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 Nabors will have surgery on Thursday.....Status is uncertain but will be out for a long period of time.....I would medical redshirt him IF he's done for the year
AggiesAreWe Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 Not good. Was looking forward to seeing him contribute this year.
Guest coachacola Posted August 28, 2008 Report Posted August 28, 2008 This news just ruined my morning.
Guest abovetherim Posted August 28, 2008 Report Posted August 28, 2008 Glad it was a FX and not a ligament. Still the news makes me sick. If he misses a lot of time I hope they get him a medical redshirt.
Guest coachacola Posted August 28, 2008 Report Posted August 28, 2008 This hurts big time! Who will step up? Jay Brown will probably be the one who steps into Nabor's role but this hurts our inside depth big time. Nwevo and Custer better have improved IMMENSELY from last season.
Guest mffl Posted August 28, 2008 Report Posted August 28, 2008 Well let's see.. it's late August, basketball season starts in November and hopefully our season will end in March... thats about 5 months. How long would the average broken leg take to heal rim? I know you're pretty good with the medical stuff so do you have an idea maybe?
Guest coachacola Posted August 28, 2008 Report Posted August 28, 2008 A quick google search came up with this article: The usual healing time for a mid-shaft Tibia and Fibula fracture treated with cast immobilisation is 12 to 16 weeks. This is followed by rehabilitation with a Chartered Physiotherapist to restore the range of ankle and knee movement, and to restore the muscle strength that is lost during the immobilisation period. link: http://www.physioroom.com/injuries/calf_and_shin/tibia_fibula_fracture_sum.php

I would think 4 months is a lot better than 12, the usual time for an ACL injury to heal. The best news would be only one bone in the lower leg was FX and it would be the Fibula.
