Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted September 4, 2008 Report Posted September 4, 2008 what?! does that have it hitting TX/LA?
KFDM COOP Posted September 4, 2008 Author Report Posted September 4, 2008 That will change though, it's to far out!! Keep that away!
PURPLE 4EVER Posted September 4, 2008 Report Posted September 4, 2008 IKE will..... TURN NORTH! Coop.... What is the strongest hurricane to hit New England? If Ike turns north and goes up the east coast, talk about a huge miss on the Long Island, Rhode Island, and Conn. shore line. Would be double worse if the eye wall went just west of Manhattan. Talk about a storm surge going into Hudson Bay. Lets hope it turns north then doubles back east.
KFDM COOP Posted September 4, 2008 Author Report Posted September 4, 2008 I would have to look back on the New England storm.
WOS87 Posted September 4, 2008 Report Posted September 4, 2008 I would have to look back on the New England storm. The 1938 storm that hit Long Island, Connecticut and Rhode Island has to rank up there
RonBurgundy68 Posted September 4, 2008 Report Posted September 4, 2008 What percent is there that it moves west across florida and into the gulf?
HoopInsider_Cooper Posted September 4, 2008 Report Posted September 4, 2008 I'm no where near an expert, just going by what was/is/has been explained to me. Ike does have a chance to get into the gulf but, wouldn't likely go far without heading north, due to several factors: 1) Strong storms will find an easy weakness in a ridge then take off or get taken away by any trough 2) Gulf westerlies (dont ask). If I lived in Florida, or knew someone there, there would be some major cause for concern but don't think Ike hits as a Cat 5. But heck, Cat 1 is enough for me!
Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted September 4, 2008 Report Posted September 4, 2008 if im FLA im preparing now
HoopInsider_Cooper Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 I retract a few sentiments of my post. Ike looks to be a GOM major player now.
Guest baseball25 Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 you can never trust these storms.........Katrina hit NO..and then rita hit us.....now NO got a storm last week........could we get a storm late next week?????interesting...
Lazeek Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 Any chance of a more westerly direction once it enters the Gulf instead of the models that have it turning to the NW????
CardinalFan Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 One long range model shows it just offshore Sabine Pass stationary for 2 days before finally coming into Sabine Pass.
adminbaberuth Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 Latest, I wouldn't unpack New Orleans. This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up
Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 i've seen 2 tracks that take it to SP/PA next week, BUT all the others, and there is alot that take it straight into N.O./Mississippi.Maybe Gustav was just a quiz, and Ike is the test.
AggiesAreWe Posted September 6, 2008 Report Posted September 6, 2008 Possible! Spoken like a true meteorologists. ;D
RonBurgundy68 Posted September 6, 2008 Report Posted September 6, 2008 Why do I have a reallllllly bad feeling about this?
