tvc184 Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 leaving it up to us means forcing many of us to stay. let's see how the meeting tonight at 9:30 goes. The 9:30PM meeting?
PURPLE 4EVER Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 One of the largest metropolitan areas in the country could be facing category 3 hurricane winds, and there still isn't a coordinated evacuation effort. I foresee an unorganized mass exodus out of Houston tomorrow. Looking at the satellite loops of the storm, it is getting larger and the eye wall is getting better organized.
82 5A State Champs Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 Start driving now they could. yes Yoda!
Guest baseball25 Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 its simple they evacuated last week and they looked stupid becasue we didn't get anything and now this week they don't want to pull the trigger and guess what they have left alot of people in a bind....
Bobcatfan4life Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 I agree coop. But the question is can they do it quick enough. They had lines of Charter buses drive by my job today. Hopefully they can turn some of those to our area. They are saying Houston may only get 200 buses. They could be here in 5-6 hours
Guest baseball25 Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 Yep they have screw up big time coop....when you going to leave coop....I talk to nathan about 30 mins ago and he said he's getting worried...
LUFAN Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 Well I applied for the emergency management coordinator job for the SETX regional planning commission. I am glad that I did not get that job. I do have to say this though. I hope that we can sit back and laugh at how worked up we got in a few days.

Hopefully it will not move much further north than projected.

westend1 Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 This is not new orleans and I don't need help or guidance from the officials. My family wants to leave and they would have left today except we have no word on school closures. How hard is that? Now they get stuck in traffic with everyone else, Why?

Could have just let them skip...Then write them a note to the office saying they got sick...That's how I rolled when I went through...Sometimes you have to work the system and this would be the perfect time.
