I was predicting a landfall in Louisiana.
Guest tchawks99 Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 regardless if it is headed for new orleans or Corpus everyone will be evacuated.and just like RITA all the houston and galveston people will be involved.if you think Gustav was bad, IKE traffic wise will be worse..make plans now and start getting ready..you WILL be evacuated if you live from lake charles all the way to the other side of Galveston..make plans now..
PNG70 Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 Even if it does hit Houston or Galveston we are going to take a STRONG hit....am I right Coop?
KFDM COOP Posted September 8, 2008 Author Report Posted September 8, 2008 Depends on how strong it is. Cat 3 or higher sure!
RonBurgundy68 Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 Which one is more reliable, the computer models or the noaa map?
KFDM COOP Posted September 8, 2008 Author Report Posted September 8, 2008 New Models this afternoon are shifting west from Galveston southwestward.
the_fanatic Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 Kerry: IF an evacuation is called - can you please give me estimate of when it would be called? I have elderly relatives that I cannot afford for them to have to wait in evacuation lines. Â
KFDM COOP Posted September 8, 2008 Author Report Posted September 8, 2008 Thursday Morning i would guess!
the_fanatic Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 Thanks Kerry! I appreciate it! I know you don't like to commit to those things...but for those of us with elderly relatives that like to still remain independent, it sure does help if we can get them on the road before everyone else gets out there. Ya'll do a great job! We appreciate all that ya'll do!!
BLUEDOVE3 Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 New Models this afternoon are shifting west from Galveston southwestward. Is that the Freeport area?
Champion Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 New Models this afternoon are shifting west from Galveston southwestward. Is that the Freeport area? That puts us on the BAD SIDE OF IT..... OUCH!
BLUEDOVE3 Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 New Models this afternoon are shifting west from Galveston southwestward. Is that the Freeport area? That puts us on the BAD SIDE OF IT..... OUCH! Unless it becomes a small CAT 1 storm.
Mc Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 New Models this afternoon are shifting west from Galveston southwestward. Whew! That's a relief! Taking more of a Rita ANTICIPATED track.
Bobcatfan4life Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 New Models this afternoon are shifting west from Galveston southwestward. Do you have a graph of this so we can see?
Guest baseball25 Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 Yeah i think the shifts more west is bad it reminds me of rita's path.....This strom is going to take a north turn so the more west it goes the worse for us
