Let's Put Things Into Perspective Here

Recommended Posts

Look guys I know you (WOS and LCM) are upset that you won't be playing this week, but I ask you to stop, take a deep breath, and think about this. We just got very lucky and dodged a major hurricane. Be glad that you will get to see your teams next week. It could have been different. Just remember 3 short years ago the type of season we had. What if this storm had been like Rita and hit us head on? What if it had produced the same or even worse results and we weren't able to finish the season at all? All I'm saying is be thankful that you only have to wait another week for the next game instead of having to wait another year.......

Now put this into perspective, your right we did dodge a major bullet, but guess what there are 3 more bullets loaded in the gun and any one of them might hit us.  What if, since we are talking about what if's this was our last chance to play a game for awhile because one of the other bullets hits us next week.

B4L, I appreciate your post and totally understand what you are saying but YOU are getting to play your scheduled game.  If noone else were playing their game, there'd be no problems.  We'd all be disappointed and talking about storm damage.  But we are the ONLY teams not playing and the UIL (according to the article posted) is leaving it up to the school district's to determine if it is a forfet or not.  How fair is that?  The UIL needs to step it up a bit regarding this matter too.

Everybody's kids got ready to play faster than this after Rita hit.

It just isn't right.  But I appreciate your concern.

I appreciate what you are trying to do here, Cat. Believe me, I have already shared my thanks with the man upstairs for sparing us. I just can't get away from the fact that, it didn't hit us, so there is really no reason for this to be done. I have a kid who is very upset about this deal and there is really no reason for it.

Thank you for trying to defuse the situation, but I feel it's going to take awhile.

If eveyone else can play under these same conditions...It should be a forfit.

If that would have happened. I would have banned together with my community and the LCM community and we would have taken care of ourselves like we did last time. We would have cleaned our streets ourselves and not waited for someone to send assistance. Then when we did have a football game we would have enjoyed it and I would have hoped that WOS beat LCM and LCM would have hoped they beat WOS.
