Mid-County coaches follow Moody's lead; MCM cancelled

In a bizarre twist, both Neumann and Burnett have decided to cancel this year's matchup between Nederland and PNG.  Citing lcm's recent game aversion philosophy, both coaches detailed their concern for their players' well-being, explained they probably would not be able to prepare their respective teams for next month's game, and said they did not want anyone to get hurt during a "a meaningless football game," especially since basketball season is just around the corner.  The local 4A district has responded by replacing all remaining games with touch football to appease concerns originated in north Orange.

The irony in that is that in 2005 the week after Rita, without a local stadium to play in the two Mid County teams made the best of a horrible situation and played one of the great MCM games of all time over in Pasadena. Imagine that moody!

True.  I think the only think that has stopped MCM in the last 80 years was WWII and the post-war recovery!!
