bullets13
The University of Texas at Tyler men’s soccer team used a balance offensive attack to knock off McMurry, 4-2, Saturday afternoon in American Southwest Conference soccer action at the Citizens 1st Bank-Perkins Soccer Complex. The win moves UT Tyler to 4-2-1 overall and, more importantly, 3-0-1 in the ASC. The Patriots bundled their offensive efforts into a 15-minute period in the first half, scoring all four of their goals in that time. Tony Guillen put UT Tyler on the board first with his sixth goal of the season at 18:46. He was assisted by T.J. Romaguera. Romaguera then scored a goal of his own two minutes later and Brandon Warren assisted Michael Kendall on the Patriots’ third goal of the game about two minutes later. Brent Waldrup found the back of the net on an assist from Forest Herndon at 33:32 to put UT Tyler up, 4-0, at the break. McMurry (0-7, 0-4 ASC) capitalized on two UT Tyler defensive miscues to score twice in the second half. Nathan Perschke scored in the 53rd minute and David Russo added McMurry’s second goal in the 73rd minute. Mark Oliphant and Bailey Williams shared the duties in goal for the Patriots. UT Tyler continues ASC play next week with road games on Howard Payne (Thursday) and Mary Hardin-Baylor (Saturday). Athletics Home
CoachL
Spoke with Brent last night and he was pretty excited about his goal. Earlier this week Brent also recorded his first assist of the year setting up the game tying goal againts Hardin Simmons. That game ended 1-1. Great week Brent!!!!!
