This will make UNLV scream...

Thanks to JoshUCA for providing this article and it's definitely worth keeping an eye on for Southland schools and others in the region...

Basically if the LSC rejects UIW, the President feels there is no other option than going Division I, particularly into the Southland. They can have the spot occupied by Texas State-San Marcos or UTSA, as one of them seems likely to leave the league. It'd keep the SLC in that area, though they'd have to pour even more money in...

He's the mastermind, the unquestioned leader of the school's unprecedented growth in recent years.

The SLC has a history of bringing in D2 schools so if someone leaves then UIW could join the SLC.  Now if LU is still in the SLC when this happens then I'll give up on LU sports forever.

2) Delta State

Houston Baptist, though Div I would fall behind UIW in the pecking order with UIW having football...

North Alabama would be fun, but I just do not see them coming into the SLC. The OVC may be their stomping grounds, especially with Samford now in the SoCon and JaxSt possibly going FBS. UCO has loads of financial issues from what I hear...
