Guest band of brothers Posted October 3, 2008 Report Posted October 3, 2008 A must win for Vidor i think. Exactly. For confidence and for post-season hope... yep maybe so, but vidor will not be able to stop the run and will not run the ball on Lumberton. don't let the central game be a barometer for anyones season, from what I saw, they were not very impressive, if anyone has a decent running game, the jags shouldn't be a problem. the only advice I have for vidor is make sure your mouth piece is in at all times, because it's comin'! not being cocky, just stating a fact!

vidor pirate Posted October 3, 2008 Report Posted October 3, 2008 If Matthews can do whatever he did to get Vidor fired up like in our second half, I will pick Vidor 31-14. They will get a long FG or 2 in this. Their kicker has a foot! no he doesnt... our kicker is terrible... he missed a 26 yarder and about 3 extra points so far this year
vidor pirate Posted October 3, 2008 Report Posted October 3, 2008 Some of these predictions just boggle the mind. Maybe some of U people can maybe explain or rationalize just why Vidor is such the favorite this year and in this game particularly. I'm not saying they can't possibly win this game as anyone can lose on any given night but just what has Vidor done or accomplished since last season until now that would make some people believe that they will beat Lumberton by 2-3 td's? ??? They have beaten a weaker Kelly team with a not so dominant performance and some other team that I've never heard of and can't even remember their name...no disrespect. Some will say, well they almost beat the Jags. Well, how do we even know if Central is even that good this year. Some of their fans will say they are way better, but do we really know yet? They got handled by WB, barely beat Memorial, & just beat Vidor by the hair of their chinny chin chin. Maybe Vidor & Central are pretty even as teams as a whole, but that still doesn't mean that either one of them are great teams at all. I'm not saying Vidor can't win this game, I just don't understand the logic behind some of these predictions. It seems that a lot of people think that since Lumberton was able to do what they did last year that Vidor is automatically going to follow suit with this dream season. Maybe they can...but what have they really done to show that? For the most part, don't they have many of the same players from last year with the exception of a few? Just don't get it. It seems that this year is no different than last year for the Raiders as they will have to go 5-0 or 6-0 before some people will begin giving them some respect and some of the HATERS on this board will never give them their respect even if they go on and win another district title. That's ok though...the more people doubt and disrespect will once again have to just except the facts at the end of the season and be mad that their most HATED team proved the them wrong once again. They'll just keep flying under the radar! Like one poster previously said...Why are we giving Vidor so much credit ??? I'm sure this will make the HATERS mad. maybe it has something to do with us averaging 300 yards rushing a game???

It's funny that you use the anology that Vidor hasn't played anybody, yet who has Lumberton played that's a world beater? I'll put Central up against any of the teams that Lumberton has played so far. The fact is, both teams played a somewhat weak non district schedule, both teams came out of it 2-0. Now district has started and though Lumberton maybe 1-0 and Vidor 0-1, it will be pretty obvious when the season ends that Central will be by far the better team over Livingston. In fact, I still stand by my prediction that the Jaguars will win district. I think Lumberton will win this game, but they are not head and shoulders better than Vidor. This one will be close. no joke, i think the lumberton fans r the ones illogical in this 1... seriously, ive heard 34-10 and 40-7 and crap like that... 1 question for them... are you retarded??? central will win district this year and the l train will be sitting in the station come playoff time, lumberton will not win this game though, vidor by 7

As n L-Town fan like me, do you ever feel like we're the red headed step child in this district? ;D Yea, it's interesting that whenever Lumberton always lost year in and year out that no one seemed to have much of a problem with us but low and behold the Raiders finally have a winning season and almost everyone HATES Lumberton and wants them to lose all of a sudden. I'm sure if we start losing again on a regular basis they will all of a sudden want to be friends again. They want us to stay at the bottom so they can beat up on us but they can't stand it when we win. Man all you Lumberton people do is cry about about how your not respected. Half of this subject is yall whining about this and that. Noone cares about your problems! Go see a psychiatrist if your that concerned about what others think about you. thank you!! this is why people dont like lumberton cuz they are annoying little crybabies what happend when they lost last year?? they cried for at least a week about the refs in a completely fair game, i know, i was there...
vidor pirate Posted October 3, 2008 Report Posted October 3, 2008 what i dont understand about the lumberton fans on here is that they constantly whine about no one respecting them and how no one thinks they're any good. then they turn around and do the same thing to all the other schools in this district. we need to remember that these kids are the reason why we get to go to these games and they dont deserve to get on here and read how you think they're terrible and dont have a shot at winning. its way too early in the season to talk about how good or how bad these teams are. lumberton proved last year that a group of dedicated kids and couches can do what no one else thought they could do. it is possible that another team besides lumberton can pull this off. thank you!!!
Razor08 Posted October 3, 2008 Report Posted October 3, 2008 I hope all you Vidor people like crow because Lumberton is going to take yall to the wood shed! Mark my words 8)
Guest Uhhh What? Posted October 3, 2008 Report Posted October 3, 2008 I see this as a very close game. You have two talented teams that play with a lot of heart. What I don't understand is how many L-town fans can get on here and act like they are a dynasty after making it to the playoffs for the first time in the entire history of the school. You know the old saying when you win for the first time, "Act like you've done it before." I think that is a concept that many(not all) Lumberton fans are having a hard time grasping. Whats sad is there are many classy Lumberton fans that get on here and support their team in a logical manner, but there are a few that act like the village idiot. My pick, Vidor by 3

WTB Posted October 3, 2008 Report Posted October 3, 2008 I think North Shore would beat yall by a hundred.
vidor pirate Posted October 3, 2008 Report Posted October 3, 2008 nah, not that bad, it would be bad though
Raider88 Posted October 3, 2008 Report Posted October 3, 2008 Whats bad is all these Vidor groupees thinking their team is defending District champs or better yet undefeated in 2008. You just got beat by Central and continue to talk smack. You beat 2 small catholic schools with a combined record of 2-4!! Yeah you put up alot of yards but neither wins was a blow out. Don't plan on getting all those rushing yards against the Raiders d-fense. It is not going to happen!! :

NDNWarrior Posted October 4, 2008 Report Posted October 4, 2008 I think Vidor will pull away a "W" here. Vidor 21 Lumberton 17
Guest Its_All_About_Tha_U Posted October 4, 2008 Report Posted October 4, 2008 The Train by 7 is my prediction. I will say this though, whichever team has more success throwing the ball should win since that is both teams weakness. Wow I thought Lumberton had a gun slinger? If they are a running team we should be able to take this one. How does the L train stack up against Central? First off...Lumberton should have more success throwing the ball in this game. Second, they are not just another running team. They are a very good running team that can and will run on U at will! Just ask anyone from outside of Lumberton that has seen these backs run the ball against their teams this year and they will tell U what they're capable of. Lumberton has big, bruising, qualtiy backs... but I don't agree that they run at will on anyone. Good luck to both of these teams. My heart says vidor... My head says Lumberton. I'm not going to sit here and say they will run on anyone at will, but until someone shows that they can shut them down it will be a hard time getting the win for the opposing team.
Guest Its_All_About_Tha_U Posted October 4, 2008 Report Posted October 4, 2008 Vidor 8 - Lumberton 7 This score sounds familiar... ;) Hahahaahhahahahahahahaha I thought it was funny myself...hence me quoting the Friendswood vs Dayton score...42-20.
