hitman009 Posted November 25, 2008 Report Posted November 25, 2008 muscgrove-Kirbyville totally agree. Hope he can add on to that .526 batting average from last year in 3A. Ask Jasper how tough he is to get out. Man can he run down a ball or what!!!
baseball4life09 Posted December 20, 2008 Report Posted December 20, 2008 Massey being as dumb as he is quit the team from what I hear. He was playin on full ride to lsue
besbolbenbedygud Posted December 23, 2008 Report Posted December 23, 2008 that's a little harsh........some people can handle college life and athletics and some can't.......its not all fun and games when you get there............no matter the reason, I hope he comes out ok! Maybe he wanted more time to become an All-American poster like you, baseball4life09...............lol
643 Posted December 25, 2008 Report Posted December 25, 2008 that's a little harsh........some people can handle college life and athletics and some can't.......its not all fun and games when you get there............no matter the reason, I hope he comes out ok! Maybe he wanted more time to become an American poster like you, baseball4life09...............lol Correct, some can't hang when they find its no 'walk in the park', no graba$$ing. I attended my sons first practice @ Seminole State in 99, there were kids puking everywhere. The freshmen found out quickly this would be a little more than HS, the first week several quit...
cleanup13 Posted December 25, 2008 Report Posted December 25, 2008 College level athletics in any sport is way harder than high school. At that level the coaches are expected to win (not that the high school coaches aren't expected to win) but it gets to another level. The school is basically paying for your education so it is more like a job. My son came home for the holidays from Alabama and went and worked out with his former high school teammates. When he got home he told me how "easy" the workout was compared to college. You really have to want to play because you are dealing with being away from family and loved ones, working harder and going to school all at the same time. Some can hack it and some can't. It just isn't as easy as some folks think.

Guest thefan Posted December 30, 2008 Report Posted December 30, 2008 Conner will need to show me something. I think he is a good player but we will find out how good this year at West Brook. Good luck!
MIF04 Posted December 30, 2008 Report Posted December 30, 2008 Here is a first shot at the Pre Season team. Some players are interchangeable (as indicated throughout): C Jacob Felts (Orangefield) – By the time he graduates, I see Felts as the best player and most highly recruited kid in the area. He gave up football to be a ‘baseball only’ guy and that sacrifice will pay off. 1B Kirby Bellow (Nederland) – Could also pick him as one of the top pitchers in the area but he is the smoothest 1st baseman around. 2B Joe Robertson (BC) – Dynamite with hidden pop. Football ended early for him due to neck injury and he responded by spending the time “off†honing his baseball skills. 3B Kane Benoit (PNG) – Another member of what is shaping up to be a very talented 2010 class. He also rates as a pitcher for the Indians. SS Jude Vidrine (Nederland) – Lamar signee who has body and tools to contribute at the next level. OF Jace Statum (Orangefield) – 2-way player at OF. Will be the Bobcats’ ace on mound but is a wonderful CF. OF Chris Muelner (West Brook) – powerful OF who looks to anchor the middle of the Bruins’ lineup. OF Matt Johnson (LCM) – He is a masher who, when coupled with the friendly confines at LCM, could hit a lot of HRs…I mean a lot. P Trae Hester (Vidor), Matt Hicks (BC), Nathaniel Svoboda (West Brook), Brandon Hillin (Buna), Shane Waddell (LCM). Most certainly, Hester could also make these team as an OF. Hicks is also a 2 way guy as a SS but he is best used on the bump. MVP: Trae Hester (Vidor): Vidor’s ace and ‘biggest†offensive threat. As Hester goes, so do the Pirates...and look for the Pirates to make some noise this year. OFF PLAYER: Jacob Felts (OF): see above. COACH: Chad Landry (BC) – The Cardinals may be the area’s best chance for a deep run in the playoffs this year. Look for Landry, in his 1st season in BC, to do what they always do there: win. As always, one man’s opinion…in December. Let the talking begin.
EAGLE07 Posted December 31, 2008 Report Posted December 31, 2008 Here is my attempt. As always, lots of talent in SETexas.. C Jacob Felts (OF) Jake Ponder (BH) 1B Kirby Bellow ( Ndederland) Alex Rocha (BH) 2b Joe Robertson (BC ) Cody Clifton (BH) SS Jude Vidrine ( Vidor ) Tony Carmona (BH) OF Jace Statum (OF) Heath Padgett (BH) Matt Johnson (LCM ) P Trae Hester (Vidor ) Matt Hicks (BC) Nathaniel Svoboda (WB) Co-MVPs Hester ( Vidor) Hicks (BC) Offensive MVP Jake Ponder (BH)
mustang32 Posted December 31, 2008 Report Posted December 31, 2008 C- Jacob Felts(OF) , Jake Ponder(BH) 1B - Kirby Bellow(Ned) , Matt Peterson(BH) 2B - Cody Clifton(BH), Joe Robertson(BC) SS - Tony Carmona(BH), Jude Vidrine(V) 3B - OF - Jace Statum(OF), Colby Henscey(BH), Matt Johnson(LCM) P - Trae Hester(Vidor) Matt Hicks (BC), Jay Burditt(BH) CO-MVPs Hester(V), Hicks(BC) OF-MVP pONDER (BH) I KNOW WHAT THESE GUYS DID LAST YEAR I COULD WIN A TITLE WITH THIS GROUP
Jasper86 Posted December 31, 2008 Report Posted December 31, 2008 Does Pitts know Vidrine is the SS?.... News to me..
Cool Hand Luke Posted December 31, 2008 Report Posted December 31, 2008 Does Pitts know Vidrine is the SS?.... News to me.. Does Kyle Green or Cody Robbins know he moved to Vidor also?....... ;D
Guest vpirate Posted December 31, 2008 Report Posted December 31, 2008 I see Matt Hicks name popping up. Is he back in the area?
redlegs Posted January 1, 2009 Report Posted January 1, 2009 WO-S has Cody Hodge, Taylor Bonnin, and Kendal Veitch
Guest thefan Posted January 1, 2009 Report Posted January 1, 2009 Two of those names along with Jordan Darnall will help WO-S surprise a few teams this year
meat Posted January 1, 2009 Report Posted January 1, 2009 With the way Vidrine has developed (both mentally and physically), it seems to me that he is Nederland's best option at SS with Pitts moving over to second. Either way, those two have played together for a couple of years now and could be the best double play combination in SE Texas
BIGDOG06 Posted January 1, 2009 Report Posted January 1, 2009 Pitts is still the shortstop and Vidrine is still at 2nd for Nederland. Pitts proved himself last season so there is no reason for them to switch. They have played together for years, always at those positions, and they are probably the best middle infield in the area.
