LG ended up with 421 total yards, but only rushed for 59 yds on 38 attempts. They did complete 67% of their passes for 362 yards. HF averaged almost 5 yds a carry running the ball, but was only 4-14 passing.  HF lost 4 fumbles on the night.

This was a really ugly game for HF from the Start. I am not making any excuses because LG was the better team however you can not make as many mistakes as HF did and expect to win. Also HF was playing with a depleted secondary, 3 of our 4 Starters back there were out with injuries. Not to take anything away from LaGrange they are really good. They Run the Spread out of a Two QB system, both QB's are excellent passers. They have at least Two receivers that should be IMO D1 prospects. HF did stuff their running game, they could not run on us at all. Lagrange has an excellent, well disciplined team and should do well this year. HF needs to get something going on Offense or this will be a long District Season. Good News for HF fans, I hear that we could get some of our injured players back for that start of district. Good Luck to both schools.

HOUSTON – Early this week, Hamshire-Fannett coach Walt Mangan stated that one of his prime reasons for adding LaGrange to his schedule following the hurricane was that the Central Texas Leopards, “throw the football all around and we need to see that.â€

Well, the third-year Longhorn mentor got his wish and much, much more.

Torched by five touchdown passes in the first half alone and six total for the game, Hamshire-Fannett fell victim to a deadly LaGrange aerial assault and was pounder, 44-12, on a Houston neutral field site here Thursday night.

H-F falls to 2-2 on the year, while LaGrange improves to 4-1.

LaGrange coasted to victory this night as Leopard quarterbacks threw for 376 yards and six touchdowns, while wide receiver Sean Bunch was reeling in five scoring passes alone.

Bunch had only one TD aerial in the second half, a 37-yard strike from Luke Henderson. This came after a first half which saw the LaGrange widdeout grab touchdown passes 65, four, 35, and 21 yards.

On the night, Bunch finished with seven receptions for 164 yards andfive TDs.

The quarterback duo of Luke Henderson and Josh Schneider also took apart the H-F secondary with a six scoring passes and a combined 374 total yards through the airways.

Schneider led the way, hitting on 13-of-18 passes for 213 yards and three scores. Henderson was 6-of-10 for 161 and three TDs.

Bunch begin his incredible night only 48 ticks deep in the game by grabbing a 65-yard TD strike from Henderson. Then with only 0:53 left in the period, Bunch made it a 13-0 first period lead with a 35-yard scoring reception from Schneider.

H-F’s Austin Simmons’ four-yard TD run with 7:39 in the second cut LaGrange’s lead to 13-6.

But in the final four minutes of the half, LaGrange scored three times – twice on Bunch touchdown receptions of 21 and four yards. LaGrange then closed out its first half scoring on the final play -- a Schneider 38-yard pass to Brandon Wilkerson.

In the first two periods, Bunch caught six passes for 153 yards and four TDs, while Henderson and Schneider completed 16-of-22 passes.

Well, I will make a statement that anyone that has played HF over the last three years will agree that tha injuries of Burrell and Daigle did make a difference in the game. Those two in the secondary may not have changed the outcome but there was no way they could have been replaced so say what you will about "excuses" that is a fact. Who is Simmons? What happened to Bell? He had over 500 yards in the first thrre games?
