Well some folk thought we should have left him on the defense because he would contribute more to the team on the line. I think he has proved the coaches right. The guy can move the ball!

You're not the only one nissan, most Nederland fans were screaming to abandon the spread.  We've seen why Neumann stuck with it.  We need all those weapons on the field at once.  Vidrine, who most would consider our #3 receiver was a beast tonight.  Congrats to him after a rough first outing, he deserves it, tremendous kid off the field as well.

He definately was the better RB in this game and probally is the best in the district.

True, Gizzy shut down Asa.  But Nederland has four very dangerous wide receivers, Asa's just the best of the bunch.  He had a rough night and Gizzy probably had a lot to do with that.

Grogan has above average speed.  He has great cuts, but may overuse them.  When he gets behind his pads and picks a guy to go hit, he'll get 4 yards just about everytime he touches the ball.  Ned o-line busted some great holes as well, but this kid has some tools that most don't.

So Grogan is the real deal, huh?  Is he all power with speed?  Does he have good vision?  Blocking skills?  Catching out of the backfield?

He picked up the blitz several times tonight. He should use some of the tape of him popin' our LB on blitz pickup tonight for his recruiting video. That and the threat he possed as a runner, was the biggest difference in Bellows having all night in the pocket to find the open receiver!

Grogan is a beast for sure.  I agree, he needs to put his head down and continue to plow up yardage.  I'm sure Neuman will have him doing that soon.  Gizzy definitely gave Cardenas a hard time tonite.  Gizzy is a little fella, but very quick and will stick with you.  Grogan should continue to improve, just hopefully, he won't be worn out before the playoffs.  A big guy like that shouldn't be run into the ground...needs a break every once in a while.  Nederland definitely deserved the win, congrats!

Gotta remember, you are looking at an unexperienced running back at the varsity level. His skill is raw and he is pure brute force with pretty good speed mixed in. Right now he is a very good blocking back with above average size and speed. He is hitting the holes pretty hard and making much better decisions than he did a few weeks ago. As he gains experience he is just going to get better and better. It so good to see the Nederland staff finally pick the right running back. We have been floundering in what I thought were crummy running back selections for several years, ending up with your best backs playing defense. Granted it looks like we have a pretty good line to block for Grogan, but this guy can bring the groceries.

Michael, I'm not sure what you are talking when you say "SEVERAL YEARS"???  Last year we had problems at RB.  But the THREE years before that we had Mosley running the ball and we ALL know what he did!!!

You are correct, I for some reason thought right past Micah. duh, didn't think is more like it. However,  I had particular names in mind of which i will not mention but I think excluding Micah you probably know what I am talking about. Small backs that go down way too easy has been the standard excluding the obvious.
