PANTHERPLAYA09 Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 I ran the new course today.. Its moved from the City Park this year due to Hurricane Ike, but should be a good meet still. Ive looked at a list of schools coming and the big school division should be interesting. any comments???
bmtdc1996 Posted October 9, 2008 Report Posted October 9, 2008 Yeah, I got a comment. Does that CC coach at Liberty have a clue what he is doing?
BH85 Posted October 14, 2008 Report Posted October 14, 2008 The only problem I saw is that the course had some overlap and there were runners that had were sent around the final 1/2 mile loop again in the Middle School race in both girls and boys race. They fixed some of the boys placing but I know of at least one girl that missed out on a medal because of it.
PANTHERPLAYA09 Posted October 16, 2008 Author Report Posted October 16, 2008 There was no overlap. At all. Im not sure what your talking about with that. But nobody was sent anywhere wrong. If they would have followed the arrows that were clearly in place every 5 yards they wouldnt have got lost. And what was wrong with the course? I liked it for the most part..
Kris_Gilmore Posted October 17, 2008 Report Posted October 17, 2008 What he is referring to is the fact that it was a 1.5 mile course, and for the girls and middle school runners who ran 2 miles some of the faster ones were lapping the ones at the end. When this happened some of the runners only ran 1.5 miles and ran to the finish line instead of completing the final 800 loop. Some of the parents came up to me and told me, and unless they had hard evidence I didnt say anything. So you are right for the 3 mile races there was no problem, but not for the 2 mile races.
