Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 I had a customer come in today and surprisingly he was from Coldspring. He remembered all the games we (sfa) had versus them. He told me they (coldspring) expected this team this year to be good and make a run for state. I was shocked by that remark. Are they really that good?
Gasilla Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 They are 3-2 with losses to Crockett and Diboll, both of whom are so, so teams. This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up

They have a kid going to Tech that is hoss and a great Coach. Don't know about state but pretty good for our district.
pigskin Posted October 7, 2008 Report Posted October 7, 2008 Crockett continues to go downhill.... but how is Diboll considered a "so-so" team? They just beat Nacogdoches pretty easily.
grizzly62 Posted October 7, 2008 Report Posted October 7, 2008 Crockett is a good team there not going downhill thay have played some great teams so far this season... and diboll will give some teams some fits in the playoffs !!!!!!!!
Gasilla Posted October 7, 2008 Report Posted October 7, 2008 Crockett continues to go downhill.... but how is Diboll considered a "so-so" team? They just beat Nacogdoches pretty easily. They are giving up an average of 28 points a game to teams who are a combined 9-7. I didn't say they were a bad team, but they aren't a good team either. They are so-so.
pigskin Posted October 8, 2008 Report Posted October 8, 2008 It really doesn't matter what they're giving up if they're getting the job done. I mean, the goal is to get one in the 'win' column. And as long as that's happening, it doesn't matter how it's getting done. As long as you score more than the other team in the end, it's still a win......
Guest BLUEMOOSE Posted October 8, 2008 Report Posted October 8, 2008 Pigskin, you might be the smartest person here!

Where did you get your info.? Here are all the records. kville 4-0 silsbee 1-3 coldspring 3-2 Newton 2-2 Nacogdoches 4-1 to me the opponents records would look like - - 14-8. Now take away those losses that Diboll handed to those teams and the record is 14-4. Want to get really technical, take away Kirbyville's win over Diboll and it's 13-4. Just trying to clear things up.
Go-rilla Posted October 9, 2008 Report Posted October 9, 2008 Scooter you need to quit letting crazy people in your store.. The Scott kid is a baller for coldspring and they do have a great coach,BUT the 96 SEMI-FINAL team was a BEAST of a team, and they only made it to the semi's. Saying a team is going to state is a little much in most cases.
insidetrap Posted October 9, 2008 Report Posted October 9, 2008 Who was the coach when they won state?
pigskin Posted October 9, 2008 Report Posted October 9, 2008 Coach Peveto was the coach in '92 when Coldspring played for the state championship and lost... so they never 'won' state. So, I don't know where you're looking stuff up from, but your information is wrong. In '96, Coldspring was knocked off by Sealy in the Astrodome. Coach Moynahan was the coach that year.
