Guest football03
AFTER GETTING A COUPLE OF CALLS FROM SOME OF THE 9TH GRADE HJ PARENTS, I WAS WONDERING THE SAME THING. IT SEEMS PHYSICALLY THE HJ 9TH GRADERS WERE SEVERELY UNDERSIZED. AFTER TALKING WITH SOME OF THE KELLY STUDENTS THEMSELVES, THEY ADMITTED KELLY DOESN'T HAVE A 9TH GRADE TEAM. 9TH GRADE VS. JV IS ONE THING, BUT 9TH GRADE VS. VARSITY IS A WHOLE NOTHER BALL OF WAX. IF KELLY STOOPED THIS LOW, THEN CONGRATS, YOU MANAGED TO WIN AGAINST KIDS 3 YEARS YOUR JUNIOR. IF THIS ISN'T THE CASE, THEN YOU GARNERED YOURSELF A WELL EARNED VICTORY. i hear hj's freshman played kelly's jv and some varsity players played for kelly...? kelly won 28-6 ? actually, the freshmen and sophmores played for kelly yesterday. As for varsity players playing, the only varsity players that played were two freshmen. #55 Brandtley Wilson, #14 Nick Schrapps. Since Kelly didnt have a game this week, I see no fault in letting these two boys play against boys their age, since they have been playing against people 4 years older than them all year. stangchain
JV Final WO-S 12 Silsbee 7 Heard this was a tough loss for the Tigers. Silsbee had a couple of chances at the end to win this game, couldn't punch through. From what I heard, WOS JV is very good, have been blowing out all their opponents. WOS kneeled it on like the 1 yard line with 15 seconds to go. They could have put one more in but chose not to. Officiating was very strange last night. A spectator was removed from the stadium. I've never seen that before.
talon
i hear hj's freshman played kelly's jv and some varsity players played for kelly...? kelly won 28-6 ? Why has the original post been deleted? Are the facilitators of SETXsports personally connected with HJ coaching staff. The original post expressed concern over the incompetence of HJ coaching staff allowing and promoting the game of HJ freshmen opposing Kelly JV players. Some HJ freshmen players were injured (some severly) and the game should not have taken place. It was an incompetent decision on the part of HJ coaches to place their freshmen players on the field to oppose Kelly players with 2-3 yrs experience, ability, and size. HJ coaching staff has an obligation to protect the well-being of their athletes. The HJ freshman VS. Kelly JV game should never have been scheduled. The HJ athletes were placed on the field facing a JV team w/2-3 years experience, training, size, and ability. HJ is suffering from a player shortage and the Kelly game in lieu of BC was an overzealous/irresponsible act on the part of HJ coaching staff. These athletes could have/may have suffered life altering injuries as a result of the incoherent judgement to schedule this event. Gamble with your own well-being not that of 14 year old children. Guest football03
Talon, if the kelly players had 2-3 years of experience on them. That would make all of the kelly players juniors and seniors??? I sure hope that your are not suggesting that the coaches at kelly would play juniors and seniors in a freshman game, when they are in the middle of district. If so then there is no point arguing with you because you have no common sense. And again, the only varsity players that even dressed out for the game were freshmen. Including #55, who people were accusing of being a junior.
jetski
I KNOW OF ONE HJ KID THAT HAD HIS COLLAR BROKEN IN THIS GAME, BUT IF FOOTBALL03 IS CORRECT AND KELLY JUST PLAYED FRESHMEN & SOPHOMORES, THEN IT WAS AGE WISE A MORE EVENLY CONTESTED AFFAIR. i hear hj's freshman played kelly's jv and some varsity players played for kelly...? kelly won 28-6 ? The HJ coaching staff would not intentionall put any of their players into a situation where they knew there was a good chance of getting them hurt, it was just the bad luck of the draw that those HJ kids got hurt and its unfortunate, but you cant go around blaming the HJ staff for something that they cant do anything to prevent...
