Joharr73 Posted October 11, 2008 Report Posted October 11, 2008 Based off these past few games; this one has the makings of a shoot out! Looking forward to next Sat. in High Island. Prediction: WH 49 -- HI 35 Defense holds strong at the end! Go Oilers!!!
BIGMO44 Posted October 11, 2008 Report Posted October 11, 2008 Oilers by 3 scores. Good luck to both teams...
footballfreak Posted October 11, 2008 Report Posted October 11, 2008 according to how well WH played the last 2 games i think the score will by by 20+ points for WH.
eaba26 Posted October 11, 2008 Report Posted October 11, 2008 West Hardin may win this game in a close one. But they will not score 40 points on High Island. But Im going with High Island in a close one. Go Cards!!!!!
Joharr73 Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 Should be interesting, none the less. Go Oilers!!!!!
KFDM COOP Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 **SETXsports Small School Game of the Week**
TheCardinalFan Posted October 12, 2008 Author Report Posted October 12, 2008 This should be a very good game on Saturday afternoon in High Island. I expect to see the stands full for this battle between the Cardinals & Oilers. Go Get 'Em Boys!!!!!!!!! Go CARDINALS!!!
Guest LR1969 Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 WH 32 HI 23...sorry Cards...If I was making this prediction on emotion, you would roll!!!
83_Alumni Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 Cardinals coming off a great win over Burkeville, but I think WH will take it.
TheCardinalFan Posted October 12, 2008 Author Report Posted October 12, 2008 Hey that's alright guys, that is what makes this game that much better. I am not much on predictions, but I will tell you that this game will open the eyes of everyone in SETX. For those who remember the teams of the early 80's, if you make it down to HI on Saturday; you will see that same intensity from the Fighting Cardinals. Go old smash mouth football, from whistle to whistle. You gotta Love it! Good Luck to the Oilers, we will see you Saturday. Cards will pull out the upset in a hard fought game. Go CARDINALS!!!
Guest LR1969 Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 Hope you're right...I do remember those teams...right up to a disappointing loss to Italy in Bryan...I also remember a few long road trips with you and a couple of others in the "Tuff Truck"...Man was that a cramped ride...(ha)...By the way, I assume the Rice Festival will not happen this year..? I figure a "professional" crab ball maker would know the answer to that (ha).
TheCardinalFan Posted October 12, 2008 Author Report Posted October 12, 2008 You are correct, No Rice Festival this year. I have had a plenty calls about people wanting Crab Balls. Maybe we can sale some at the Homecoming game. That would be a treat for anyone to make a special trip for.
Guest LR1969 Posted October 12, 2008 Report Posted October 12, 2008 Or you could get the good folks at SETXSPORTS to allow you to advertise and sale them on here to help the Cardinals in their efforts to rebuild...I, for one, would order a case...Later!
24 over par Posted October 13, 2008 Report Posted October 13, 2008 i think west hardin wins in a close game but ill be pulling for h i
mustang Posted October 13, 2008 Report Posted October 13, 2008 Would be nice to see High Island knock em off, will be a tough job though. Good luck to both teams.
footballplayer Posted October 13, 2008 Report Posted October 13, 2008 West Hardin has yet to play their best football. But i think they can beat HI even with the way they have been playing. West Hardin 35 HI 14
BUCman Posted October 14, 2008 Report Posted October 14, 2008 The winner of this game controls their future for one of the playoff spots. Im going to go out on a limb and say High Island 35- West Hardin 20. Their is something special about the Cards.
TheCardinalFan Posted October 14, 2008 Author Report Posted October 14, 2008 Hey Bucman, I think most people posting on here are from the show me state. The ones who are pulling for the Cards, but still chose West Hardin, want the Fighting Cardinals to prove that they are "A Force to Be Reckoned With". West Hardin is the favorite, but some on here really want the Cardinals to pull out the upset. Your support it appreciated and I hope you can make to the game. Maybe you can get your parents down to HI to watch the game as well. I am pretty sure that I will see you there!!! I have expressed to some of boys that this is the biggest game of their lives and they welcome it with open arms. The Fighting Cardinals are focused on the opportunity that stands before them. Go CARDINALS!!!
JacketDAD Posted October 14, 2008 Report Posted October 14, 2008 The Cardinals got lucky with Burkeville. West Hardin will roll big in this one. Copeland too much. West Hardin 42 High Island 14.
bk2008 Posted October 14, 2008 Report Posted October 14, 2008 JacketDad, Why can't you just congratualte High Island on a great win, rather than make up some reason why they won. It was luck? I don't call 41-6 lucky. I call it playing a great game on both sides of the ball. Can you not have some respect for an opponent? Besides, it not like you guys played a great game last week either. Was Cushing just lucky?
HJ-Hawks25 Posted October 14, 2008 Report Posted October 14, 2008 Much respect to all the High Island Coaching Staff, and players out there. Just finished watching the news and what they have going out there is fantastic. The coach himself said he had 6 determined players all staying at his house to finish off the football season. The damage out there is terrible and the players remain with high hearts. Best of luck to them and I hope they can end this season on a great note.
1880 Posted October 14, 2008 Report Posted October 14, 2008 Should be a real good game. With the momentum that the Cardinals built up last weekend against Burkeville, I think that it will carry over to this weekend. Plus they get to play at home. The Cardinals shouldn't listen to any of the negative remarks made about them on here, or just use it for motivation to prove every naysayer wrong!
