Roccaforte pays tribute to Hughes at LU’s banquet

What a nice touch from Lamar University basketball coach Steve Roccaforte at the Cardinals Tip-Off banquet Thursday night. Mindful of what a staunch supporter of his program the late Ed Hughes was, Roccaforte presented LU windbreakers with EH stitched on them to Hughes’ daughters Lynne Hollomon, Beth DeVillier and Catherine Bruney and son Mike Hughes. Not surprisingly, former Houston Rocket John Lucas got rave reviews for his after-dinner-speech that was aimed at LU players and their responsibilities . . .
