Guest coachacola Posted October 18, 2008 Report Posted October 18, 2008 After a week of voting, North Texas students have passed an athletics fee that will bring in millions yearly for the Athletics Department. The money will first be used to finance a new stadium for the Mean Green football team. 2,829 (59%) YES 2,038 (41%) NO Total votes 4,867 (13.9% of student body) If all goes according to plan, ground should be broken by summer, and the stadium should open by 2011. The new $10 per credit hour fee will cap at 15 semester credit hours and will not be implemented until the stadium is complete, which is expected to be in the fall of 2011. Now if only they could win an actual football game. Link: http://www.gomeangreen.com/2008/10/18/new-era-dawns-as-north-texas-students-pass-athletics-referendum/

If only our HS coach could tweak his spread offense a little and actually use a tight end set on occasion. Regardless, passing this fee referendum is a great day for UNT.
