The Hardin County Sheriff's Office tells KFDM News two Silsbee High School football players charged with sexually assaulting a cheerleader have been released from jail after posting bond.

Christian Rountree, 18, and Rakheem Bolton, 17, each posted $100,000 bond and were released from the Hardin County Jail.

A 16 year old Silsbee High School football player has also been charged and placed in juvenile detention.

As KFDM News reported Monday, Silsbee Police Chief Dennis Allen says authorities have charged three Silsbee High School football players with sexually assaulting a cheerleader at a party following the team's Friday night game.

The teenage girl says it happened at a house party in Silsbee.

Chief Allen tells KFDM News the cheerleader says the teens cornered her in a room, closed the door and locked it. That's when the cheerleader says they sexually assaulted her. Chief Allen says the football players left when other teens heard what was going on and started knocking on the door.

Monday morning Silsbee Police picked up 17 year old Rakheem Bolton, 18 year old Christian Rountree and a 16 year old juvenile. The teens were charged with sexual assault of a child.  Allen says another teen could also face charges.

Bolton and Rountree were taken to the Hardin County Jail.  The teen was transported to juvenile detention.

The cheerleader was taken to a hospital where doctors administered a rape kit.  The kit will be turned over to the Texas Department of Public Safety crime lab.  Results could take up to 3 or 4 months to get back. Officers say they found DNA evidence that could possibly link at least one of the teens to what happened.

Chief Allen says investigators are in the process of interviewing several witnesses. He also says investigators are looking into allegations that teenagers were able to drink at the party. He says if there is evidence to prove that allegation the homeowner might also face charges.

A conviction for sexual assault of a child is a second degree felony. It can bring a punishment of up to 20 years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine.

The cheerleader's father called KFDM news and talked about the investigation. He didn't want his name used, nor his daughter's. He told us, "I want the case made public and I want it prosecuted to the maximum.  I'm outraged this happened to my daughter.  In today's society, it's all about 'me' and what 'I' want to do.  It doesn't excuse you to do these things and think they can get away with it.  You see it in the college and professional ranks.  Now you're seeing it more and more in high schools. They need to know who her parents are. She's doing okay. She has a lot of me in her. She's strong willed and determined."

The cheerleader's father said she'll be at school Tuesday because she knows if she stays away, "the football players win."

Silsbee ISD released a statement saying it's prohibited from disclosing or commenting on confidential student disciplinary matters, or from acknowledging that student disciplinary actions have, or have not, been taken, or that such actions are under consideration.

How much will the absence of these players effect the outcome of their season. What role did these kids have with the team?

Wow---concern for the team? don't you think that is misplaced to say the least?

Misplaced?  I believe it's a valid question.  I know Roundtree was their top downfield WR.  He will be missed on the field for sure.

Valid--maybe--- but at best terribly innapprpriate and at worst disgusting----players were charged with sexual assult of someones daughter, sister, etc---the concern should go to the victim only----IF guilty the perps will rot in Hell

I think that he meant that it is a valid question because this is a SPORTS message board, not a blog on social commentary.

My question would be does the football player turned witness have an agenda. Was he second string and might possibly be making his path to start easier by naming names and getting them off the team. The girl didn't even know who the boys were, supposedly.

Maybe. But an investigative reporter worth his salt, who knows that there are two-sides to every story, would already be asking these type questions. The fact that they haven't been asked makes me proverbially weep for our media outlets.

Another question would be why she went into a room with three guys, her being the only girl to do so. Was this typical behavior? Was she dating any of the three boys at the time? If so, had either he or she been talking about a potential break-up? A good investigative reporter would have already asked her colleagues these things. Believe it or not, these things happen.

And if a newspaper can find out in one day that the hose where the party was held had a history of drug related incidents, wouldn't there have been talk about town of these things. Why didn't the father know where his daughter was. He is so vocal to the media, but why haven't they asked if he was the one to drop er off or not? If not, why didn't he? Did he not know about the house in the community? Did he give his daughter a curfew? Did he think she was with friends?

Investigative reporting, people. If I can think of these questions it is sad that the media can't.

a girl dropped off at a party is not to blame for being raped--IF it happened--niether is a father to blame for someone raping his daughter---I do not need Wayne Docifino to tell me that

No, a father is not to blame for his daughter being raped -- if she really was -- but he would be to blame for dropping his daughter off at ahouse where questionable things had happened in the past -- if he knew about it. Did he? I guess we'll never know the way this is being so sloppily reported on. Investigative reporting does not attack the alledged "victim" like so many people think. If done properly, it does help clear the mud and get all the facts. Our media outlets are not doing it and seem happy to let the boys be demonized and assumed guilty by the general public before a trial. That is not ethically acceptable for any form of media -- TV, print, or radio.

I don't know why the assumption is to question the young girl who was violated!!!!!  Three young MEN  forced her to do something when she said NO!!!  The end.  No assumptions made.  IT WAS WRONG !!! Who cares how she got to the party!!  Hate to tell everyone, but teenagers DRIVE!! They don't need a parent to drop them off!!  Get off your football high horse and have some compassion for this family and pray for the young lady who has been victimized!!!!!!!!!!

A couple thoughts here about selective outrage.

1.  Innocent until proven guilty.

2.  For the people upset at the listing of stats and questions about how big of a part the alleged perpatrators played for the team.  Yes, if they are guilty, it is horrible that a young lady will have to deal with the emotional stress as a result.  Remember also though there are dozens of other teenagers that will have their lives affected.  The teammates of the accused have put quite an investment into their football endeavor, this year and previous years.  To pretend they are not affected if these kids committed a crime and became unavailable is silly.  It does not discount the greater suffering the alleged victim has to endure, and neither does a victim's suffering discount others that are affected to a lesser degree.

As someone else said, this does happen to be a sports board.  It is in no way inappropriate for focus in this forum to be on sports.

Okay--you folks are right. Let us all gather up a few buckets of rocks and stone her--maybe her father as well and while we are at it those that dared to knock on the door when they heard a commotion--hey stone them too---hey then cast the girl aside because now she is damaged-----but above all the big question must be: HOW DOES THIS AFFECT OUR FOOTBALL TEAM---disgusting

Ummm, unless you know that to be the absolute truth (which no one does at this time) then actually what you are saying is a very huge assumption.

The boys are innocent until proven guilty by a jury in a court of law. That is how our system is set up and it should remain that way.

I hope to God that you are not picked for the jury if you are already that biased based on your emotion for the alledged "victim." Believe me, her lawyer will look for people who are thinking like you.

And I realize that teenagers drive. But don't they have to have an adult in the car at 16? Maybe not, but I thought that in Texas that was a requirement now. Things have changed since we were kids.

Two side of the same coin.  You make the assumption here that the accused are guilty.  Maybe they are, maybe they are not, we happen to have a system to determine this.

Assuming the accused are guilty is just as bad as assuming they are innocent.  They have been accused, and law enforcement felt there was sufficient cause as to warrant an arrest.  Assuming anything beyond that without personal, first-hand knowledge is irresponsible and that has NOTHING to do with football.

Remember the Duke lacross team?  Those young men were accused, arrested, the entire team had the season cancelled, and the coach was forced to resign..and then it comes to light the entire allegation was fabricated.

I want to note I am in no way accusing the alleged victim of deception here, nor am I willing to convict the alleged perpetrators.  I have no knowledge of the events in question.

For some reason, I thought that the driver's license age had been raised from 16 to 18 in Texas a few years ago. Thanks for the info.

Maybe we need to quit talking about it and pray for her and her family! Pray for the boys! None of us have the facts!

Wisely spoken, 13. I agree.

And with that, I believe I have said enough on this subject and will say no more.

To whom it applies: I'd venture to say that  had this 16 year old  young lady been your daughter. you would be looking at getting swift severe justice...not giving a crud about a football team, football players and statistics.

True, no one here knows precisely what happened.  I agree 100% with the post by 13.
