HD is still the pick in my opinion but I gotta admit HI has been better than I thought they would be.Evadale has fell off the map and WH new guys can't be anywhere near as good as advertised.I got HD and Spurger neck and neck for the top spot and SP and HI in a dogfight for the 3rd spot  ;)

I agree with whsalum on HD having the upperhand in the District race and Spurger has to be included in the top three not only because of their success last year, but their ability to win the tourney last weekend.  Sabine Pass had a good showing at the West Hardin last weekend as well, even with the loss to HD.  Steve Collazo told me 20 years ago, that it is tough for any team to beat another team consecutively in a season.

Lest anyone forget that the Rebels are playing upper classicication teams in the tournaments they are playing and improvement is coming. The team is still young as the starting five is a senior, a junior and three sophomores and this is the beginning of their third week of practice.

It would be unwise to count the Rebels out before the district schedule even begins!

I don't recall counting anyone out.  The Rebels as well as the Cardinals have everything to gain this season.  We have the opportunity of playing the spoiler in District.  No one wants the Cardinals to be a District front runner more than I do, just as you and the Rebels.  I believe the Cardinals have the tools they need to turn the District upside down and the Rebels have the same potential this year as well.  Until district play begins, the Cardinals and Rebels have a lot more to prove if they think they should be placed in the top of the District this early in the season.

If i had to pick a surprize team it would be HI

If a team come in thinking the game is already won when they play HI then they just might catch a reality check by the Cardinals,They are playing team basketball

They could upset any team when playing home.
