Reasons PNG has had a bad season!!

#1 Tackling has been the biggest problem. For some reason this team seems to think that all you have to do is hit the guy with the football and not wrap up. This has to be the poorest group of tackler's that I have ever witnessed from PNG. #2 would be the blocking, it has been horrific. This was suppose to be the strength of the team, the offensive line. #3 is ball security, I don't recall seeing so many fumbles at inoppurtune times (like always). #4 is special teams, this group made mistake after mistake and really did nothing positive. #5 is just flatout a very undisciplined football team which leads to mistakes. #6 worrying about other things but the game, like constantly worrying about the crowd to make noise (maybe some should think about cheering in the future). When fans are constantly cheering and then see a lot of bad things it kind of makes people not want to cheer for their team. #6 is speed and size. This is something that PNG has overcome in several years but made up for it with heart and being fundamentally sound at their positions and never refused to give up. Hopefully something the younger ones will bring to the team next year.

There are drills for just about all of these and I have been told by a few player's that they have not worked on since the beginning of the season. By the looks of how many true form tackles I have witnessed all season, maybe I should believe this. There is one common denominator for all of these problems, they all reflect problems from lack of teaching and learning. As a true fan that I am I will still be at all of their games every year from scrimmages until the end. This is not a shot at kid's but just a reflection of what I have witnessed this year. Hopefully for the remaining of the season some of the younger kid's will get some playing time and who ever the QB is going to be next year starts getting some snaps. The baseball season should be a lot better for some of these kid's. As for as this season goes, all that they can do is keep working hard and never give up and realize that a lot of work is done in the offseason. HIT THE WEIGHTS BOYS AND GET IN SHAPE!!

#7 When the final buzzer goes off in order to be considered a "successful" football team you must have more points on the board than your opponent. This hasnt happened to terribly much for PNG this yer...just sayin

I agree.  Tackling has not been good this year for PN-G.  There has been so many times when the hit is made in the backfield, yet the runner's second effort allows him 4-6 additional yards.  You can not miss tackles and come out ahead at the end of the game.

Special teams is something else that has stood out as a problem.  I cant think of a single good return all season from a kick off or punt return.  With all the success PN-G has year after year in Soccer, is there no one that can fill the shoes of kicker on the football team that can kick the ball all the way to the endzone or accurately make a field goal from 30 yards out?

Fumbles.....  what more needs to be said? Someone needs to do some drills on tucking, protecting the ball and running.

I AGREE. #1 - SUB-STANDARD COACHING. FIX THIS FIRST, AND EVERYTHING ELSE WILL IMPROVE WITH IT...

1. Horrible special teams play

2. turnovers

3. bad offensive play calling

4. lost a great defensive front from last year

5. bad luck

X4 and I would like to add that the HC & OC need to be release from the program if PNG will ever want to be a power again in this district.
