KJB324 Posted August 18, 2006 Report Posted August 18, 2006 Just A few phrases and key things to look out for when reading posts that may tip you off on how much this person really knows. 1. Continually refers to Dave Campbells magazine as a source for information. 2. Determines a teams strength by whether or not it made the playoffs. We all know that too many teams make the playoffs as it is and now even more for 5A. Some larger districts dont apply. We all get tired of hearing so and so is a tough team cuz they made the playoffs. yet they had a 5 and 5 record. 3. Anybody who thinks a team will be great because they have athletes. It takes more than just "Athletes" to build a strong program. Just look at Ozen they have more college signees than any school in the area almost every year yet they cant find themselves past the first round in the playoffs very often. 4. Well our freshman and JV teams never lost a game so watch out. This is the funniest argument that somebody always seems to use. Different schools use lower level teams in different ways. Feel free to add to the list I left a few out there
swampdude Posted August 19, 2006 Report Posted August 19, 2006 How about, " these boys have been playing together since Pee-Wee football and they all made the all-star team" Coincidently, this usually comes from the guy who was the pee-wee coach!
HFHORNS Posted August 20, 2006 Report Posted August 20, 2006 Hmmm...we have been hearing that in Hamshire for the past few years....lets see what happens now...lol
