As if Obama hasn't been scripted the whole time?  He wouldn't be able to give a good locker room speech because of all the "umm umm umm well hold on i got to think of the next line" stuff he does and speaking of being thrown a curve,

i think palin would be a better announcer than coach.  she's like the john madden of presidential candidates.  she and john share many qualities:

A) completely unattractive

B) completely annoying

C) completely incompetent

D) they both avoid questions that they don't know the answer to by going off on seemingly unrelated tangents

E) even the experts question keeping them around

I would say that about Obama

you'd at least be wrong about D and E.  the others are opinions, so you'd be entitled to them.

As you are wrong on D and E.

False.  I've personally seen interviews where questions that Palin should be prepared for were stumbled over and fumbled and the subject was eventually changed when she showed she didn't have an answer.  these screwups were well-documented by various news sources, and even parodied on Saturday Night Live.  she was better prepared for those questions in later interviews, with the generic stock answers scripted for her by the campaign.

On top of that, several REPUBLICANS have questioned McCain's choice of Palin, and as more and more controversy surrounds her, several well-known and influential conservatives have either criticized mccain's choice, asked for her to step down, or decided to move their vote to the left due to concerns about her.  no matter who you vote for, that's not opinion, as it has actually happened.

how did he handle the Joe W. "the plumber" thing.  I tell you what superstar, you sit the the bench and keep the waterboys spot warm because Obama is gonna spread your playing time around

joe the plumber is a joke.  i'm still not sure how he managed to keep from just busting out laughing.

i'd prefer having my playing time cut to watching coach McCain take his eleven most talented players and never take them out of the game, and never let the weaker players even have a chance to practice.  to make things even worse, the first thing he'd do after taking over would be to lower the standards of off the field behavior for those 11 players so that they aren't held accountable for their actions.  on top of that, those who weren't good enough to play would be constantly criticized about not getting better, even though they never really were given a chance.  as soon as programs were instituted to level the playing field, the starting 11 would gripe about the time and resources that were being taken away from them.

Today Obama promised a few things he will do as President in a speech today.

"give a tax break to 95 percent of Americans who work every day and get taxes taken out of their paycheck every week";

"eliminate income taxes on Social Security for seniors making under $50,000";

"give homeowners and working parents additional tax breaks";

not increase taxes on anyone if they "make under $250,000; you will not see your taxes increase by a single dime –- not your income taxes, not your payroll tax, not your capital gains tax";

"end those breaks to companies that ship jobs overseas";

"give tax breaks to companies that invest right here in the United States";

"eliminate capital gains taxes for small businesses and start-up companies that are the engine of job creation in this country";

" Nederland will beat Vidor 38-35"

"create two million new jobs by rebuilding our crumbling roads, and bridges, and schools -- by laying broadband lines to reach every corner of the country";

"invest $15 billion a year in renewable sources of energy to create five million new energy jobs over the next decade";

"reopen old factories, old plants, to build solar panels, and wind turbines";

build "a new electricity grid";

"build the fuel efficient cars of tomorrow";

"eliminate the oil we import from the Middle East in 10 years";

"lower premiums" for those who already have health insurance;

"if you don't have health insurance, you'll be able to get the same kind of health insurance that members of Congress give themselves";

"end discrimination by insurance companies to the sick and those who need care the most";

"invest in early childhood education";

"recruit an army of new teachers";

"pay our teachers higher salaries, give them more support. But ... also demand higher standards and more accountability";

"make a deal with every young person who's here and every young person in America: If you are willing to commit yourself to national service, whether it's serving in our military or in the Peace Corps, working in a veterans home or a homeless shelter, then we will guarantee that you can afford to go to college no ifs ands or buts";

"stop spending $10 billion a month in Iraq whole the Iraqis have a huge surplus";

"end this war in Iraq";

"finish the fight and snuff out al Qaeda and bin Laden";

"increase our ground troops and our investments in the finest fighting force in the world";

"invest in 21st century technologies so that our men and women have the best training and equipment when they deploy into combat and the care and benefits they have earned when they come home";

"No more homeless veterans"; and

"no more fighting for disability payments."

Hey, all you Limbaugh lovers.   Obama will be laughing all the way to the White House.  Palin is headed back to her igloo.  Maybe, she will say hi to Scooter for me.         :D :D :D

And the Rainbow flag replaces Old Glory.  Gay pride stickers will abound.  The Liberals are back.

I think that its safe to say that the sports fans on here like McCain/Palin more than Osama/Biden.

If his name were Osama, maybe so.  But, it's not and he is not a Muslim.

As far as a head coach, I think that OBAMA would be the best because he would be very motivational and I don't see much wrong with allowing everyone on the team to see the playing field.  I am sure if anyone had a kid who was a part of the team who worked hard everyday and did what he needed to be a part of the team, just like his fellow teammates, but perhaps wasn't as good as his teammates, would appreciate his child getting a chance to play like everyone else.  But, just like the "real" world, I think that greed sometimes takes over and the real name of the game is "winning".

Without a doubt, whoever the coach is will make plenty of promises of playoff success that they're not able to fulfill because 1) they're full of bull 2) the school board and administration won't allow it  3) It doesn't really matter anyway because the coach that looks the best and gives the community and players the most warm fuzzies has gotten the job for the past 40 some odd years.

i think it's safe to say that the majority of the readers on here are conservative republicans.

Probably so.  I did see 29 votes from our liberal democrat sector.    Maybe the rest of your "pals" are at the opera or a flag burning party.

Well I hope your party does better with education than the one in office when you were getting educated. It appears your party failed you those years with reading, writing and spelling.  ;D

Speaking of education.  Which one of these political canidates (lol) candidates as a SETX HS football coach would insure that these players are doing their best on and off the field---ie schoolwork.  Or is this important when we are looking for a coach?

OK guys--looks aint everything---proven by the fact that McCain has second pretty much nailed down in this scientific Weed poll.  We are talking about real team leadership.  Who do you want on your sidelines to get your team in the run for a state championship?  YankeeDawg and I have some interviewing plans for this area, so if you want a chance for a coach that has been in the national arena---get your opinions out on the table.

I am also beginning to think the unattractive remarks may be coming from PW'ed men whose wives are reading over their shoulders.  LOL--- ;)

Hey Weed...did you schedule the interview with Sarah yet??

My wife wants to know when we're going  ;D

Guys, I do not believe that either side will have the power to make the changes that this country needs.  I am not a REP or DEM, I am not a racist before that point is brought up.  But if you are a sports fan or a former athlete or simply an American, there is no way you can vote for Obama.  This man does not respect the flag, the national anthem or for that matter, what this country stands for.  How would you feel if he came to your next Friday night home game and he stood on the sidelines with the players and during the National Anthem, he looked to the other end of the stadium and did not acknowledge the flag or put his hand over his heart.  There is no feeling quite like the tingle on the back of your neck and running down your arms as the anthem is playing, knowing that there are opnly a few moments left before that first hit.  Vote McCain or write your name in, no votes for Obama.

You must be the official Obama spokesman.  Take a little time and read his own words, the words from his book.  I know that you are liberal and most liberals won't  let a little thing like "facts" get in the way of what they are thinking but give it a try.

Seriously, does Obama have you on his payroll as  his personal defender?
