Waychel0120 Posted October 29, 2008 Report Posted October 29, 2008 As most of you know, there is a 3-way tie between 3 well deserving teams....Warren, Kountze and Hardin. Hardin won the bye in the flip today and will sit out tomorrow, 10-30-08, during the first game between Warren and Kountze. This will be played at 6:00 in Buna. The winner of this game will play Hardin 30 mintues later to determine the district champion. Hope there is a big crowd out there tomorrow supporting these girls. They have worked hard to get where they are. It should be some great volleyball! Oh, and GO LADY WARRIORS!!!!! ;D
sable316 Posted October 29, 2008 Report Posted October 29, 2008 Good luck Lady Warriors! Hope all the screechers are there for support! GO MEAT!
geep06 Posted October 29, 2008 Report Posted October 29, 2008 The three teams finish as district tri-champs, right? Aren't they playing for seeding in the playoffs?
highsky Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 The three teams finish as district tri-champs, right? Aren't they playing for seeding in the playoffs? I believe geep is right...it is only for playoff seeding, not to determine district champs.
underarmor Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 whatever happened to winning and losing. Yes they will be declared tri-champs by UIL technicality, but I guarantee you the teams will know who won the district in reality by how the 3 way playoff comes out. Give the teams some credit, they can accept winning and losing. If they couldnt they wouldnt participate in athletics. Everyone wants everybody to feel warm and fuzzy but guess what in athletics just as in life their is success and yes even sometimes we fail. Picking yourself up after losing is what is important in life and learning how to handle defeat as well as victory is just as important. Sorry but the UIL wants everyone in the playoffs and everyone to feel great and eventually we wont even keep score to see who wins and loses. Again, sorry, but not everyone wins in life and our kids need to be taught to try to win as hard as they can, but also that sometimes their is a team or an individual that is just a little bit better at something than you are. SO WORK HARDER...... The voice of reality.................. This would be something Cowboy fans should read............. :D :D :D :D just kidding lighten up ;D
geep06 Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 "UIL technicality"...I think those are called 'rules!' District ended Tuesday night. The playoff for seeding is for seeding. End of story. Congratulations to Hardin, Kountze, and Warren. Nice job, ladies!
underarmor Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 sounds like geep06 is just happy to have a piece of the championship. Cmon go for it. Dont be afraid winner take all what do you say. UIL rules, smules, we're talking about winning and losing. REALITY CHECK
geep06 Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 Not in the mix...I am from a school in another district. Just a bystander. Tri-champs. Sorry. Winner will take all in San Marcos on November 22. That's how it all shakes out.
regulator Posted October 31, 2008 Report Posted October 31, 2008 How did the seeding for the playoffs end up in this district. I know they played last night.
