Why would you think? Any insight or rumor?

Did he want a smaller district? Dayton has not been much trouble for Ned in the last decade or so from my memory. I say keep Lumberton, LCM, Vidor for valley games and playing time for underclassmen. Surely Neumann did not think BMT Ozen, Central and PNG were going away. BH would have been a bit easier for now but who knows in a few years.

Not trying to stir the pot, but wasn't there some kind of fracas between NED and Dayton a few years back?

Everybody wants Ozen to stay home but guess what, Clayton and Co will reload. That district still runs through Beaumont----especially if Dayton tries to play small ball on the Dline like this past year.

Central's backfield is set with #5 at QB and #23(transfer from WO-S)

Ozen will be the London Durahm show with a new RB stepping up from JV

Both teams will have decent Olines and defenses that will hit you in the mouth.

Dayton has Dugat but loses Gulley

Beaumont will definitely send a team or two, and will most likely be home to the district champion, again. Dayton will put up a fight for the playoffs with the two Mid-County teams.

If Neumann was upset, it wasn't for the fact that he didn't want Dayton in the district. I think he was hoping Barbers Hill would be in... he already had a non-district tilt set up with Dayton, so that puts him back to the drawing board for his third non-district game. Trust me, nobody in Nederland is all that down about having Dayton in... with the exception of the basketball programs. Dayton has a good program, but as OC fan said, they have not had much success in the playoffs against old 20-4A less the Dakari Pearson era.

Nederland is struggling to find non-district games, that's why Neumann was probably a little down.

I don't know, but we played both Nederland and Central last year, plus a game-situation, four-quarter scrimmage against Dayton. Of the three, Dayton was the most impressive.
