MOUNT BELVIEU — The Orangefield Lady Bobcats might have been a little nervous but they were far from satisfied Tuesday night.

Orangefield shrug off the nerves to beat the Liberty Lady Panthers in four games in the Class 3A Region III bi-district round playoff game at Barbers Hill High School.

The Lady Bobcats (20-9) won the match 25-21, 18-25, 25-21 and 25-13.

Senior Allie Beach once again led the Lady Bobcats with 17 kills while fellow senior Olivia Wagner finished with 26 assists.

Ashton Wagner finished with five kills while Kaitlyn Henson and Aimee Scales each had four kills. Scales also put in eight aces in the match.

“We are very excited to get this first playoff win,†Orangefield Coach Kristin Holbrooks said. “You could tell it was a different team tonight though from last Saturday. They seemed a bit nervous but they fought through it. Now I hope it is out of the way and they will play even better in the next round.â€

The good news for the Lady Bobcats is the next round will not even be the area round.

Orangefield has a bye through the area round and will meet the winner of Hamshire-Fannett and Taylor next week. The Lady Longhorns had a bye through the bi-district round.
