The recruitment process has been a little different for dual-threat quarterback Ortavious Hypolite of West Orange (Texas) Stark.

Ortavious Hypolite has a visit lined up to Army.

Living with his head coach after being driven from his family's apartment because of Hurricane Ike, Hypolite may have his sights on heading to the East Coast and the United State Military Academy.

"I've got a visit set-up with West Pointe the first week of January," he said. "I've never been that far away from home but I really want to check them out.

"Coach (Tucker) Waugh, Army's running backs/recruiting coordinator, and I talk a whole lot. We talk every week, basically just trying to catch up with one another."

Hypolite also understands how prestigious attending an institution like Army would be.

"It would definitely be a great opportunity to for me to receive a great education from a school like Army," he said. "It would also teach me to be a tremendous leader as well as a great person in general."

Besides Army Hypolite has been catching the eye of other schools around the nation.

"TCU came in last week and talked to my coach," he said. "UNLV has also been sending me a lot of information and I would like to check them out."

Hypolite added he also has received and offer from Lamar to go along with his other current offer from Northwestern State, which would make a total count of two.

"Lamar's coach calls me a whole lot as well, but right now I'm just trying to focus on the season and any visits I make will come after the season is over," he said.

Hypolite and his team carry a No. 3 ranking in class 3A as they head into the last week of the season and prepare for the playoffs.
