KFDM COOP Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 The report i got from there was 1-0 Kirbyville. Hopefully our member backwoods will give us some details.
jdawg03 Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 Word I got was Kirbyville 3 scores Newton 0
KFDM COOP Posted August 21, 2006 Author Report Posted August 21, 2006 Newton should be fine. They did lose some good ones but they usually reload.
SteelerCzy Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 WOW, I heard 3-0 in scores, and Kirbyville looked good.
Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 I have a couple of friends that play for K-Ville. They said for WO-S to get ready. Not trying to start anything but from what i got outta all the scrimmages is that WO-S is very good, but they are in a tough district, they better bring it every week.
whsalum Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 Been telling yall.Kirbyville is the most underated team in the area.Dont see them beating WOS.But they will play as hard as anyone around, just not as many horses in the stable.
Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 They got about 2 more years of being better than expected.
Guest Wildcat 08 Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 We played really great against Newton. We shut down their Offense and played better than i thought. I think we'll make the top 3 this year if we play like we're capable of playing.
duckbutter Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 This was THE worst scrimmage that I have ever seen Newton in. Defense looked good, Kirbyville couldn't run on the first team at all. Offensivly....at least 20 fumbles....couple of good passes, couple of good runs....not impressed....YET. We have lots of young kids playing and it will take time to gell. We will be ready for Crockett on the 8th  Kirbyville looked better than expected...Jack has been poor-mouthing...they have some speed and size and swarm to the ball. Anyone overlooking K-ville in district will be is for a surprise.
Guest Wildcat 08 Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 Newton will be ok. Barbay always comes through. I was so happy the way we looked though.
SETXsports Broadcaster Posted August 22, 2006 Report Posted August 22, 2006 Coach Barbay always says he does not like the 0 week game, "the team is just not ready yet" that extra week will set the Eagle train rolling...DO NOT and I will repeat for those that are hard of Reading DO NOT take this scrimmage as an indication of Newtons regular season play 8) 8)
Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted August 22, 2006 Report Posted August 22, 2006 I should hope not. I have Newton making at least the state semis again. unless they play Tatum then i will have to change that. sorry
Guest Wildcat 08 Posted August 22, 2006 Report Posted August 22, 2006 Usually we're as flat as the next team in scrimmages but we gelled nicely as a team in the scrimmage.
duckbutter Posted August 22, 2006 Report Posted August 22, 2006 Like I said, we have a lot of young kids this year and it will take time to get a good head of steam.
