skipper Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 COLDSPRINGS IS A VERY GOOD FOOTBALL TEAM and the west orange-stark fans know this,we saw this from you last year .wo-s had a fair defense last year that keep the mustangs in the game with you guys but this year might be a little diffrent becouse the offence is starting to come around and if that happens watch out
Gasilla Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 I'm kinda curious how many state titles WOS has won. I mean all the people from down their act like they have won all these state titles and all. That they rule Texas high school football or something. I'm a Coldspring alum and I really hope they lay one to you guys to put you in your place. I'm really getting tired of hearing about WOS. Last year they were supposed to win the title, but really the big thing was to get past Giddings which was on a down year. Did that then lost. So I hope my Trojan friends can pull this one out and take all you lovers down one. We have not won a state title in 20 years, that doesn't mean we aren't any good. We get respect from those who are not WOS fans due to our abilities on the field. Don't hate just because some think we will win.
pigskin Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 I love it when everyone gets on the "WOS by a lot" bandwagon. I mean, Coldspring is really horrible. Their QB is as slow as they come..... #9 is a coward (just ask SHSU31)..... #50 is the worst linebacker in the state of Texas..... and their offensive line couldn't block a daisy in a windstorm.....     But, I'm sure the Trojan supporters like to see a team like WOS overlook them. WOS should just go ahead and start gameplanning for Caldwell. There's no since in even bringing the studs.... this one is in the bag for the mighty 'Stangs!!!!!
Guest wos grad Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 No one from WO-S is overlooking Coldspring i can promise you.

Wos 67 Coldsprings 7 Coldspring will be no push over. We have to keep playing good defense and keep up what we had Friday on offense. I think we can score on them, they have given up over 24 points a game. We just need to take it one game at a time an avoid being ambushed in round 1. Boy, that sounds really cocky!! : Expectations are always high at WO-S, don't be jealous of that!! No team should expect to lose, they should always expect to do their best and possibly win. I honestly don't think that anyone is jealous of WOS always having high expectations, because other schools have them too. Good luck to Coldspring Trojans and Coach Barbay!! Go expecting to win.

I could go on and on and on but you can find most of this in the Historical section of this board. To say that Giddings was in a down year is a gross miss-statement. Granted, not as good as the 06 team but still very talented with outstanding players such as LB Alan Dock, QB Brock Fitzhenry (tu signee), and DE Spencer Duncan. WO-S fans obviously have quite a bit of pride in the program & this is a Southeast Texas football board so maybe that is why there is a little WO-S talk going on……go figure. We are proud of our program as I’m sure y’all are as well down “their†in Coldsprings.
Chazz Reinhold Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 dont think it will be all that close....wos by atleast 4 scores
WOS87 Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 Lest we forget.... The score at halftime in the 2007 Bi-District game against Coldspring was: West Orange-Stark 12 Coldspring 7 Mustang players and fans, do NOT feel that you can automatically write off the Trojans. That's a recipe for disaster. We've gone down that road a few times too many!
skipper Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 coldsprings, has given up alot of points saw this on there web site.but still will be a good game

texaggies07 Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 I did not say anything about having confidence in your team that they should win. My thing is that you guys are always talking about all these wins and district titles which are great. The district you play in though is far from the best in the entire state. Which I'm sure will be argued about here. I'm not saying that WO-S is not a good team, but it does get sickening to hear people say they are just going to roll Coldspring by four scores. I think this will happen if the same mistakes are made that were made in last years game. Also I believe Fitzhenry was out of that game against WO-S last year with an injury. I wish I were going to be home to go to this game. I think it will be a really good one.Â

WOSHIGHc/o2001 Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 I'm kinda curious how many state titles WOS has won. Well for starters WO-S has won 2 state titles & is the top all-time football winning percentage in the state of Texas. I wouldnt say you have the all time winning percentage in the state of texas..Must you forget about your neighbor to the north...Newton Eagles..they have 3 state titles..I believe Coach Barbay and the Newton Eagles has the title of the top all time winning percentage in the state of texas!!! Sorry to have to contradict you on this one... WO-S is #1 (and the following numbers are only up through the end of 2007... our winning percentage is now well above 79% having gone 8-0-0 in 2008 so far) Newton is #86 The Top 100 All-Time Highest stangchain Posted November 11, 2008 Report Posted November 11, 2008 I did not say anything about having confidence in your team that they should win. I think it will be a really good one. Say what you want about Fitzhenry not being in the Giddings vs. WOS game last year. WOS still had to prepare as if he were playing, thus taking time away from the preps as if he were NOT playing. It was kept secret until the start of the game as to whether Fitzhenry would play or not. It is true that our district is weaker than the districts in which we have played in in the past, but people like you would say something against WOS even if we were in the toughest district in the state. We are just like everybody else in the state at this point....one game at a time. Noone can afford to have an off-night at this point.Â

skipper Posted November 11, 2008 Report Posted November 11, 2008 i just hope coach hooks and his staff bring up a couple of guys from the jv i just loved watching them zip past people this year.
bd04 Posted November 12, 2008 Report Posted November 12, 2008 I'll say WOS wins 45-0. It should not be a real struggle for them.
Tbone-05 Posted November 12, 2008 Report Posted November 12, 2008 At least it will be at a football game as my team is in the play-offs also.
Homer Posted November 12, 2008 Report Posted November 12, 2008 On paper, stat wise, WO-S is the better team. Everyone knows that don't mean jack $h*t. My take on the game is that if WO-S comes in and plays Mustang Football they could run away with it, as Coldspring has shown they have the ability to self destruct in the 2nd half when down as they did against WO-S last year and Cleveland this year. The worst mistake the Stangs can make is to let the Trojans hang around and gain some confidence. If that happens, watch out!! Could be decided in the final seconds
