jackhammer Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 The fight was started by 2 vicious hits way out of the play by Central and the fight started on the field and got bigger fast until both benches emptied, i didnt see any coaches get hit but you cant see everything, there was cops coming from everywhere even off duty in the stands DPS etc...once they got it under control the officials ended the game, then they loaded up Centrals team on the buses still in their gear and the police escorted them out of town quickly. It was not pretty BTW if you gonna fight dont take off your helmets ill sit there all day and let someone hit me with a helmet and pads on, but i saw several players take off their helmets some using them as weapons I thought vicious hits were what players were supposed to do? I would prefer to hear of "clean, hard hits". Vicious just has undertones of uuuhhh, well you know...DIRTY, Malicious, intending to cause bodily injury. kinna unsportsman like...don't you think?? Oh my, you are being "offended" by adjectives! Vicious can't be used to describe a hit? Maybe we should just play flag football.

What bothers me are hits placed on players that are done with the sole intention of injuring them, sometimes permanently, or dirty hits done out of revenge for a score or big play. Please read what I type without misconstruing it.

shorttexas1 Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 This years Central team is all about defense.. That is all they know how to do... If you see a player playing to the wistle that is usually called discipline, not thuggish. The theme of Jaguar Defense is speed and intimidation. You want the receivers to start to short arm receptions, the QB not to stand and attamet the throw in pressure, the RB to began to fall before he is hit, etc. The purpose is to take away your heart. Northshore did it to Westbrook all night Friday and those kids did not begin to fight. Northshore was laying hits out of bounds, roughing up receivers, laying punishing blocks down the field, hitting outside of the field of play and just being ruthless. The Ravins were doing the same thing yesterday when I went to the Houston game. Most defensive minded teams do that... This is one of the most physical games on earth for a reason!
raideroldtimer Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 "IF'' the UIL keeps Central from going to the playoffs, the only fair thing to do is keep PNG from the playoffs next year. They better get a lot better or they want be in the playoffs next year either. First of all, it will probably be a week before the UIL make a decision on the fight, so being kept out of this years playoffs won't happen. Chances are, they might sanction the teams, which could cost them playoff spots in the future.

obcowboy Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 Ive heard it also....it's comming no doubt. It would behorrible for central to be knocked out for something like this. Poor Central, gonna have to miss the playoffs for this. what a shame. I couldn't read any further...w/o responding to this! Don't be dumb!...Sorry I'll keep scolling down the thread now! ;D
obcowboy Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 I think the players who started this fight would be punished.Punishing the entire team will be wrong if the entire team isn't at fault.Watch the video and make individual decisions from there.PNG players involved would be punished as well depending on there grade level. If you are a under classman you would be punished next season. If you are a senior the punishment would have to be handled differently. The Central players would get punished this season since they are in the playoffs. This doesn't sound fair to Central, but this is the way it may be handled.PNG players and Central players should be punished if they are at fault.Good luck to Central in the post season. If you want to punish the players who started it...go to Mid county and knock on Burnet's door b4 he gets the axe!
obcowboy Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 I'm sure both teams have a -0- tolerance rule for fighting and just maybe the schools should take the case into their own hands before the uil gets involved and maybe just maybe the uil will be a little more tolerant there is no excuse for fighting at a game when two individuals get in a fight it should be dealt with by the coaches when the benches clear it should be dealt with by the police and if your coaches aren't teaching good sportsmanship fire them and get a coach that teaches discipline and good sportsmanship If it were two individual...and I am assuming you're referring to one-on-one fights...but that wasn't the case...those kids jump the Central athletes on their sideline...b/c we threw some good hits...that's crap! How can you rationalize crap....let's not try to find an issue...it's right in front of you! Central's QB was tackled after a run and rather than let him up...PNGers are twisting his ankle...I had a good spots to see the action!

You could see it brewing throughout the game...my brother said the PNGers were using choice words that would insight any Central athlete to fight...but we kept our cool! After the fight when the PNGers started jumping up and down and y'all band played Cherokee....all the Central kids did was point to the scoreboard that read 16-0...we're moving on!

If your running to the ball and I can lean on you and knock your stuff in the dirt b4 the whistle blows...well just keep your head on a swivel! No one has a problem with big hit when it's your team doing the hitting...when you're on the other side...your too busy yelling for the flag instead of giving the famous..."OOOOOOHHHHH!!!!"
nissanindian Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 o i see i didnt know that a good hit was consider in the back and you said you had good seats to see the action but the ball was ran to our side of the field before the fight consumed look both teams are to blame can we put a end to it now
obcowboy Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 I'ma put the nail in the coffin...1st let me say I was please to see all the purple in the stand, knowing what kind of season you had this year...Glad to see you there! On the other hand I was disappointed to see so few Central fans come to the game...I know WB was playing NS...but dang it had to be around 200 folks not including the band! I saw a bit of the earlier posts on the other thread but at work I didn't have enuff time to say what I wanted...but now the truth shall set you free! WE KICK Y'ALL BUTT AND YOU DIDN'T LIKE IT! YOU TRIED TO FIGHT US AND WE KICKED YOUR BUT AGAIN! ;D I'm sorry...Let me digress! I keep seeing this thread about Central kids hitting a PNG coach (possibly Burnett)...well let me inform you of PNG coaches swinging on Central kids!...Soulja I hope this isn't too Risque!
obcowboy Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 o i see i didnt know that a good hit was consider in the back and you said you had good seats to see the action but the ball was ran to our side of the field before the fight consumed look both teams are to blame can we put a end to it now Well...uh not yet...my young Padiwon Learner...I even watched the film from the game...there weren't any blocks in the back! Y'all had kid swinging helmets! Those hits were clean...what bothered everyone so much was the fact the kids returns the INT 108 yds...well he did pitch it! I guess in saying we were wrong in running out there...yes you're right...but since PNG cleared the bench first...I'd say that our kids and even you if you were in that situation were only responding to a need to help their brothers! Those hits you referred to could have been handled by the Ref after the score!
baddog Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 Why does someone who is in the right feel the need to keep defending themselves? I think both teams are equally at fault. One team is always going to say that the other one started it. I don't believe that one team is doing all the bad stuff while the other team is polishing their halos.

Piratefan4life Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 i say cage match....put the two coaches in a steel cage first out of the cage is not the one whose team started the fight....loser gets to wear a dress for next years game
