Guest Orangeboy Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 AL Roookie of the Year 3B-Evan Longoria- Tampa Bay Rays NL Rookie of the Year C-Geovany Soto- Chicago Cubs
Gabe Posted November 11, 2008 Report Posted November 11, 2008 NL Cy Young Tim Lincecum - San Francisco Giants circle and admin...yall agree with this one? I really began to think Lidge had a chance.
jasper forever 07 Posted November 11, 2008 Report Posted November 11, 2008 who is Tim Lincecum? never heard of him, of course i didn't watch much baseball this year
adminbaberuth Posted November 11, 2008 Report Posted November 11, 2008 Good choice on a sorry team. It wasn't close, 23 out of 32 votes beating Brandon Webb. The kid can bring it for only being 5'11 and 170 soaking wet.
Guest Orangeboy Posted November 11, 2008 Report Posted November 11, 2008 Yeah after looking at his numbers, he really did a great job. Well deserving, its nice to see great players on sorry teams be recognized. I think the AL Cy Young will be a closer vote.
Gabe Posted November 11, 2008 Report Posted November 11, 2008 Yeah dont miss understand that I think Lincecum did not deserve this award. He had a great year. I just knew it would be close. A case could have been made for him, Webb, Santana and Lidge.
Guest Orangeboy Posted November 11, 2008 Report Posted November 11, 2008 Even Sabathia could be thrown in that group, and he only played in the NL for 1/2 year.
Guest Orangeboy Posted November 12, 2008 Report Posted November 12, 2008 i got Carlos Lee for AL You mean Cliff? I didn't know Carlos pitched.
Gabe Posted November 12, 2008 Report Posted November 12, 2008 Joe Maddon of Tampa Bay and Lou Piniella are Managers of the Year No surprise there
EAGLE07 Posted November 12, 2008 Report Posted November 12, 2008 Yeah dont miss understand that I think Lincecum did not deserve this award. He had a great year. I just knew it would be close. A case could have been made for him, Webb, Santana and Lidge. I thought the voting would be alot closer.....Lincecum is something else though . Just goes to show...size isn't everything when it comes to pitching.
Walk-off Posted November 12, 2008 Report Posted November 12, 2008 Not to shabby, considering he looks like the bat boy.
bullets13 Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 Lincecum deserved this thing hands down. Can you imagine if he'd been on a good team? what's he looking at then, 25 wins? 18-5, 2.62 ERA, 1.17 WHIP, 265 K's, 227 IP he started 33 games this year... of the 15 games he lost or got a ND, 9 times he allowed three or fewer runs while going 5 or more innings. Anybtime he did have a bad outing and give up 4 or 5 runs, his offense never bailed him out. How many times did Beckett or Cliff Lee allow 5 or 6 and still get a win? If he was playing for a team with a real offense, he might have gone 26-3. What an arm!
Gabe Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 CLIFF Lee wins AL Cy Young in landslide
Guest Orangeboy Posted November 14, 2008 Report Posted November 14, 2008 Weel deserving, but I thought Halliday's CG's would have made it a closer race.
Guest Orangeboy Posted November 18, 2008 Report Posted November 18, 2008 NL MVP Albert Pujols- St. Louis Cardinals
Guest Orangeboy Posted November 19, 2008 Report Posted November 19, 2008 AL MVP 2B- Dustin Pedroia - Boston Red Sox Not bad after winning the ROTY a year ago.
