PURPLE 4EVER
I was at the 1977 game also. 11 years old. My dad just got a CB for the car. Our call name was the 4 Aces From Port Neches That was the first and last time I will go to Texas Stadium. DUMBEST DESIGNED STADIUM IN THE WORLD! Why you wouldn't go all out and cover the thing is beyond belief! It is a heat furnace in the summer and a freezer in the winter. I can't believe the new stadium also has a hole in the roof. Of course looking at the owner, it doesn't surprise me that much.

But what I did not know until I sat in the upper deck, was the 15 foot gap opening that surrounds the upper deck. The roof actually stops at about 15 foot from the concourse floor and that wind comes whipping through there. The temperature was tolerable, but the wind just made it miserable. Even then as an eight year old, I got the sense something special was happening at this game. Could have been the spark for my love of high school football. Funny the things you remember as a youth, as we were driving to Dallas, I remember all of the PNG cars painted up but one saying stuck out the most to me..... Down the Drano with Plano!
