Guest mffl Posted November 15, 2008 Report Posted November 15, 2008 Lets have a better start than last year. I hope theres over 2500+ considering HS playoffs and only a DIII opponent.
Lazeek Posted November 15, 2008 Report Posted November 15, 2008 I am ready and will be in my usual pathetic season tickets that I have!!!!
BLUEDOVE3 Posted November 15, 2008 Report Posted November 15, 2008 I plan to be there tonight. I just need to see some basketball. I need it basketball.
Lazeek Posted November 15, 2008 Report Posted November 15, 2008 Bluedove I would love to meet someone with the knowledge that you have for the game. Come find me at the game tonight.
cardinalcc Posted November 15, 2008 Report Posted November 15, 2008 I'M READY!!! ;D. I can't wait to see how the team looks, even though it is against D3 opponent. I didn't know that we were on a 13 game home winning streak. Lets hope to keep that going.
Guest coachacola Posted November 15, 2008 Report Posted November 15, 2008 Last year against LA College Dawkins and McThay were the leading scorers with Jay Brown tossing in 10 points. Should be interesting to see who among the newcomers will stand out. Who's going to do the rebounding? If the game is close then we'll probably be in for a loooong season.
UNLV Posted November 15, 2008 Report Posted November 15, 2008 I missed the game. I was out of town all day. Sounds like LU is struggling.
Guest coachacola Posted November 15, 2008 Report Posted November 15, 2008 24-15, 8 minutes to go in 1st half. LU very cold offensively.
UNLV Posted November 15, 2008 Report Posted November 15, 2008 I think LU afterburners have kicked in...
Guest coachacola Posted November 15, 2008 Report Posted November 15, 2008 37-20 LU, 5 minutes to go in 1st half.
Guest coachacola Posted November 15, 2008 Report Posted November 15, 2008 55-29 LU at halftime. Charlie Harper started and he's having a good game. Anthony Miles is struggling. Everyone else seems to be playing as expected. Dawkins started slow.
UNLV Posted November 15, 2008 Report Posted November 15, 2008 105-72 LU.... Those freshmen played like seniors. Imagine them as seniors...
UNLV Posted November 15, 2008 Report Posted November 15, 2008 La-tech came from behind to beat ULL 61-59. Is Tech better from being one of the worse DI BB schools last year, or is ULL worse...
Guest coachacola Posted November 15, 2008 Report Posted November 15, 2008 Lamar still has a lot of work to do, but it's good to see the freshmen play pretty well. It's hard to judge the team against this type of opponent, but it's good they played La College instead of a good D1 team. I'm ready for their next game.
UNLV Posted November 15, 2008 Report Posted November 15, 2008 It sounded like they played with confidence. This is what matters more than anything. If they take that confidence to ULL, its all over. BTW, Rice and Denver lost to weak teams...
UNLV Posted November 15, 2008 Report Posted November 15, 2008 Anyone found out what ever happened to Moton?
Guest abovetherim Posted November 15, 2008 Report Posted November 15, 2008 Nice first game of the season. Got a W.
cardinalcc Posted November 15, 2008 Report Posted November 15, 2008 Great game and Im glad we got free chicken . Skyler Williams has some ups.
Guest mffl Posted November 16, 2008 Report Posted November 16, 2008 Anyone found out what ever happened to Moton? I wish... but no clue. I think Charlie Harper and Anthony Miles looked good for being freshmen, Miles started slow but he showed he can get to the basket and finish. Skyler Williams is SO fast... he comes out of no where with so much explosiveness, I can see how was a good QB in High school. All in all, I think this team can be a better team than last year, I really do. We'll just have to see down the stretch but we have some capable guys who showed they can step in. I guess we will all find out how good this team is against ULL.
lu cards Posted November 16, 2008 Report Posted November 16, 2008 i heard moton is on campus but not sure his status with the team.
BLUEDOVE3 Posted November 16, 2008 Report Posted November 16, 2008 Lamar still has a lot of work to do, but it's good to see the freshmen play pretty well. It's hard to judge the team against this type of opponent, but it's good they played La College instead of a good D1 team. I'm ready for their next game. Iguess we could say LU DID what they were suppose to do against a weaker team. The Louisiana team was a step or two above a high level high school team. But it was a good work-out for LU. I agree, it's hard to see how good this team is based on last night. The Freshmen looked good but I think they are in for a rough time against seasoned vets. Those guards for Louisiana were sad. I've always said if you have a little talent and book smarts, you can find a scholarship to play basketball. Those guards proved my point last night.
